Setting Trading Hours

Is there a way that I can set up NinjaTrader to only let me trade from say 8:30 - 10:30AM CST? I don't seem to have enough discipline to stop trading after lunch...

Hello FD1958,

Unfortunately there is no setting in NinjaTrader Desktop to configure times when trading is allowed.

If you submit orders from charts, you could create a custom trading hours template. The chart will receive realtime data as per the start and end times of the trading hours template. You need to receive realtime data in the chart to submit orders from the chart with ChartTrader. If no realtime data is received in the chart, no orders can be submitted from the chart.

You can create custom trading hours templates at Control Center-->Tools-->Trading Hours. More information in our help guide.

You can select the trading hours template in the Data Series menu of the chart. Please right click in the chart and select 'Data Series'. Select the custom created trading hours template for the 'Trading hours' setting and click OK.
