Is anyone having a problem with alerts not triggering?

Hi everyone,


For the past couple months I've had a problem with alerts not always triggering in NinjaTrader. Sometimes the alerts work for hours on end and the next day they don't work at all. I've contacted support about it in the past, but although they were willing to help, they sadly couldn't assist me, because my trigger problem didn't generate a message in the control panel log or alert log. I'm running the latest version of windows 10 and a stock version of the latest NinjaTrader, no special programming. Is anyone having the same problem? This bug is making the platform unusable for me.

Below a picture of the most recent failed trigger. You can see a bar breaking out of a drawing object. This should have triggered an alert, but the alert log and control panel log remained empty.

Your image is showing me 2 things:




You are on an obsolete version of the platform.

Also, did you manually disconnected from the Connections tab? If not, then this looks like a dropped connection, which would undoubtedly affect the live data flowing in that your Alerts need to calculate/process.


To begin troubleshooting:

I would recommend you updateNT8 to eliminate possible version variables.

To update to the latest version of NinjaTrader Desktop please follow the steps below.

• Login into the NinjaTrader Account Dashboard
• Click "Download" in the bottom left-hand corner of the sidebar
• Next select "Download" in the "Most Recent Release" Window in the main screen
• Once the installation had downloaded, ensure any previous version of NinjaTrader is closed before running the installation package.
  • Note: You may need to locate this in your "Downloads" folder in a Windows File Explorer

After the installation package is completed you will be able to log into to the latest version of NinjaTrader Desktop with the connection guide linked below:
