Two instances of nt 8 on split vps keeping the same machine id

Is this possible?

I would like to split my virtual private server into two separate servers each with unique logins. Then I would like to create a 2nd NT 8 account and move the second account to the new created half of my vps. Is it possible to keep the same machine id for both instances of NT 8 and run at them at the same time?

The Machine ID is automatically calculated upon the platform's launch and depends on various settings, such as the PC's hardware and software.

While it would theoretically be possible for two VPS instances with identical hard- and software to have identical MachineIDs, this is a rare occurrence and usually unwanted.

As this MachineID is automatically calculated and cannot be manually entered, it would not be possible to modify this directly.

If I used a backup of NT 8 to install to the second account on the vps wouldn't that be the same machine id?

The MachineID is not saved by NinjaTrader or stored in the backup itself.

This is automatically calculated upon each launch of NinjaTrader Desktop, to confirm the platform it is launched on is identical to the one it was shut down on.

If the MachineID differs, the platform would then remove your credentials to ensure no third-party has access to this account.

I think it depends on who your VPS is with. When I had VPS with AWS, they were always different machine IDs, and the machine ID would even change after shutting it down to save on variable costs, booting back up had a different machine ID, it was impossible to use.

Then I switched to NinjaMobileTrader VPS, and the machine ID is always the same now for over 2 years, even after windows updates. I actually now have multiple VPS with them in order to trade multiple Rithmic accounts and trade copy between them in local network mode, and the machine ID is the same on all the VPS. A bunch of us in the Apex group specifically sign up for multiple VPS with NinjaMobileTrader in order to have the same machine ID.
