Why is Ulcer Ration maximized in Strategy Analyzer

Hi, per definition in the help guide it is explained : Max Ulcer Ratio
This metric measures downside risk, with values increasing as the market price moves farther from a recent high.

Strategy Analyzer says Max Ulcer ratio. But that would mean that the optimization maximizes the draw down. The Ulcer Ratio should be minimized, not maximized. This makes it unusable in strategy analyzer. Am I missing something?

There is not a minimum ulcer index calculation as a performance metrics so there would not be another way to use that in an optimization as the fitness. There is only a maximum observed value which in the fitness it is using the max monthly ulcer index value. If you are viewing the results a lower value would equate to a better result based on the ulcer index calculation.

This statistic measures downside risk, the Ulcer Index becomes higher as profit declines from the max realized profit achieved and lower as profit rises. The lower the value the better as this indicates there is overall less downside risk.

Understood, but frankly this doesn't make sense, since the optimization only finds and keeps the highest values, instead it should find the lowest values. It should be changed.
