Locally Held Orders do not support server side ATMs? ??????
What does that mean? I have an ATM I tried to execute on the DOM. I used CTRL+Left-Click because I wanted it to submit MIT. I get the response Locally Held Orders do not support server-side ATMs?
This only happens when trying to submit MIT. stop and limit orders work.Tags: None

Hello Option Whisperer,
Thank you for the message.
This would imply that you have "Server Side ATM Strategies" turned on.
Since a MIT order is being locally held and placed by the NinjaTrader Platform, it won't work in conjunction with Server-side ATM Strategies as those are held on the servers and not locally.
If you want to use MIT orders, you would have to disable Server Side ATMs:- Go to the Control Center > Tools > Options > Categories > Strategies > Properties > ATM Strategy > Use server side ATMs (beta), Uncheck this box > Click OK
Please see the following link for more information on the Server side ATMs and their differences:

Ok, thanks. If that is the case why does any other order using the same ATM, i.e. limit, market buy, or sell stop work and only MIT does not work?

Hello Option Whisperer,
Thank you for the message.
An MIT order requires your NinjaTrader Platform to be open and connected to a live connection and account to continue working.- Again, it is held locally within your NinjaTrader Platform and only submitted to the markets formally if the price touches it while the Account is connected.
The Server Side ATM Strategies are using the logic within the NinjaTrader Servers on the internet to continue moving your orders as directed.- That information is sent from your computer to the servers and then your computer could be turned off and those orders would exist on the servers
Since the MIT order requires your platform to be connected, but Server-side ATMs don't, it won't let you mix the two.
Please review the bottom of the link I posted previously for a list of other things that are not possible while using Server-side ATMs:
Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.
