    DX future chart is not moving (DX 03-24)

    I'm connected to IB and can see the price updating in TWS, but no update in NT chart.

    Thank you for the message.

    Look in TWS at the Instruments, there should be a Green, Red, or Yellow Circle next to them.
    • Hover your mouse over that circle and check if you are getting real-time data or delayed data.
    If the circle is Yellow, you need to reach back out to Interactive Brokers and update your Market Data Subscriptions to include Real-time data for use with 3rd party platforms like NinjaTrader.
    • Using Interactive Brokers in TWS vs streaming data into a third party platform require different levels of data permissions in order to work. You will need to add the exchange mentioned in the errors to your Interactive Brokers subscriptions through the subscription manager. I've included a publicly available guide at the link below which describes this process;

    If the circles are Green, then the data should be visible within the NinjaTrader Platform as well.

    When using an Interactive Brokers account to connect to NinjaTrader, you must use the version of Trader Workstation or IB Gateway that is specified within the NinjaTrader — Interactive Brokers Connection Guide seen below:Once you have the version of Trader Workstation or IB Gateway as specified above, connect to your account within TWS or IB Gateway.
    • After you are connected in TWS or IB Gateway, you are then able to connect to the account within NinjaTrader.

    From here connect to your account and test if the charts are updating.

    If the charts are still not updating, please use the steps below to reset the instruments:
    1. Disconnect from any data providers by navigating to the Control Center > Connections menu, and left-click on “disconnect” that appears to the right when hovering your mouse over any active connection
    2. Reset your instruments by navigating to the Control Center > Tools > Database Management
    3. In the Database Management window, under the “Update instruments” section, ensure that “General properties”, "Futures expiries" and “Symbol mappings” options are checked and then click Update
    4. Restart NinjaTrader

    Reopen NinjaTrader and connect to your account/data and test if the charts are updating.
    • If they are still not updating, please use the following steps to send your log and trace files to the support team directly from your NinjaTrader Platform so we may investigate this behavior further:
      • Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
      • To: Set this to "Platform Technical Support"
      • Subject: Copy and paste the Forum URL
      • Attach: Attach a file, picture, or compressed file to share multiple files/pictures
      • Body: Include any other information you would like to share on the situation
      • Make sure 'Log and Trace files' is checked to include the requested files
        • Send the email

        Hello td_910,

        Thank you for the update.

        The NinjaTrader Platform doesn't support the delayed data from Interactive Brokers.

        So if you want to see the data in real-time over in NinjaTrader, you would have to reach out to Interactive Brokers support team to get further help enabling the real-time data for the instruments you look at.
        • Then once the account is being provided with the real-time data, reconnect to the account within NinjaTrader and the charts should be updating with that data.
