    FX Board interferes with login

    Hi

I have the settings so that after I type in my password for NT8, the login to IB is filled in automatically - however, when the FX Board loads up on my second monitor, the login details sometimes get filled in on the board instead of in the login box, almost like it's trying to look up a symbol - God forbid it ever tries to place an order by mistake!

    This needs fixing.

    Hello Irukandji ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

When NinjaTrader connects to Interactive Brokers, it starts up Trader Workstation and types in your username and password into the login screen.

If another window is selected during this process, the login screen will lose its 'focus' and it will not enter your credentials.

Can you test to see if you Right click on the FX Board and uncheck "Always on Top" if it is checked, and then try autologging in again?

Also can you clarify - are any other programs running when you are attempting to login to Interactive Brokers from NinjaTrader?

As a test, close all other open applications and attempt to connect.

Additionally, what version of NT8 and what version of TWS are you running?
We look forward to hearing from you.

NinjaTrader_Erick It would be much more sensible (and make the platform more robust) for the platform itself to check it has the correct window that is required to complete the login, rather than requesting users to make piecemeal changes to their configuration that might be frequent for any number of users. It really is a "system-level" requirement that should be guaranteed to work within the platform, regardless of any user configuration.

      Thanks.

Agreed - the current way is basically a "macro" which seems pretty darned crude way of doing things. Surely if automatic login is requested, it could be handled "on the back end" and we never even need to see it happening other than when we are asked to enter a password for example? Come on NT! Do something for a change! 2024 New Years resolution - make the changes the customers suggest!
