I searched around and didn't find what I was looking for on the forums here. I am also not sure if this is a platform or strategy topic since it's platform specific but deals with how strategy processes. There was a thread, elsewhere, that I was reading about replay data and how it can be/get corrupted or how it isn't always accurate (Issue was with Same NT Desktop version on 2 different computers doing the same backtest giving 2 wildly different results. Had this happen to me too.) The NT staffer who responded said data can be corrupted or from a bad source. I filed that away in my thoughts and kept working.
I just updated my computer and had to reinstall NT. I was trying to download information for ninjatrader playback. I struggle with needing to download each individual day until I found a right click somewhere and opened a similar screen for playback which allowed a download with a date range. The date range option kept the "Download" option grayed out so it would never work. Enough poking and prodding it came up with an error that said something about being connected to a data source (which makes a modicum of sense).
My question for you is what is the best data source to be connected to for solid, accurate, consistent market data for playback?
