    NJT8 v.8.1.2.1 won't start up after power failure

    Hello,

    I had the program up and running fine and then the power goes down in the neighborhood...I go to startup NJT and it buffers for a split second and then nothing happens... I rebooted numerous times and still nothing happens.. It won't start up..

    It may be running in the background - check task manager and end the process or just reboot your computer to be certain. If you can't resolve this any other way (repair install, etc.) try renaming your Documents -> NinjaTrader 8 folder and reinstalling NinjaTrader.

      Hello Mykro,

      Thank you for the message.

      You could test to see if the platform opens in Safe Mode.
      • Click the Windows Start Icon > Type "Safe Mode" > Click the "NinjaTrader (Safe Mode)" result
      • Try signing in and testing if the platform opens.
      • If yes, try closing it and opening it like normal now.
      Otherwise, you could try a completely fresh installation as suggested above. Please follow the steps listed below to completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader. (This will remove all of your prior files and settings to start fresh)
      • Close all running applications.
      • Navigate to your Documents folder > Right-click on the 'NinjaTrader 8' folder > Rename > rename the folder to 'NinjaTrader 8 OLD'. DO NOT delete this folder.
      • Uninstall NinjaTrader within Windows Control Panel.
      • Navigate to C:\ > Program File (x86) > Delete the 'NinjaTrader 8' folder if it exists
      • Reboot your PC.
      • Once these steps are completed, please log in to your dashboard and download and install NT8:

      If you are still unable to open your NinjaTrader platform, please use the following steps to send your log and trace files to the support team directly from your NinjaTrader Platform so we may investigate this behavior further:
      • Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
      • To: Set this to "Platform Technical Support"
      • Subject: Copy and paste the Forum URL
      • Attach: Attach a file, picture, or compressed file to share multiple files/pictures
      • Body: Include any other information you would like to share on the situation
      • Make sure 'Log and Trace files' is checked to include the requested files
        • Send the email
      ​Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

        Thanks,,, I followed your instructions re-installed NJT and is running..

        But.. How do I configure my account..? In the Connections menu there is "Live" "Playback" "Simulation" .

        Where do I configure my account.???

          Hello Michael,

          You just need to enable Multi-provider mode and then the Connections menu will look like you are used to.

            I could use some help for my Username: and Password: in the Connections Propeties window.. (Continuum)
            My original Username and Password doesn't work any longer..
            The account has changed since v. 8.0.28.0 when I last entered my original Username and Password...

              Since you are using the NinjaTrader 8.1 platform now, you could use the new "NinjaTrader" connection instead:Or, if you want to keep using the old "NinjaTrader Continuum" connection:
              • Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Connections > Configure
              • Double-click "NinjaTrader Continuum" in the 'Available' list on the top left of the window that opened
              • You will see the new connection appear below in the 'Configured' section
              • In the Properties section on the right side of the window
              • Make sure the 'Demo' box is NOT checked
              • Click OK
              • Go back to the Control Center > Connections > Click on the connection you just made
