Is there a way to bypass that login screen? I use the IB gateway and the previous version never asked for a login.

Auto Login without having to input password
Updated to the newest version, and I have to input a password and username every time I launch the platform.
Is there a way to bypass that login screen? I use the IB gateway and the previous version never asked for a login.Tags: None

You should search the forum about this subject. This has been the subject of literally hundreds of posts across multiple threads going back nine months.
The short version is almost everyone (except for two or three traders - literally everyone else) has posted vehemently that this is a "bad thing" and they need to provide a way to remember your password if you choose, and management has decided to not do it, basically, and is replying with boilerplate nonsense like "we are gauging the pushback" and "we are collecting votes." In short, don't hold your breath, because a decision has already been made from on high that they do not care that almost everyone thinks this is a bad idea.

Hello TraderG23,
Thank you for your post.
If you have updated from 8.0 to 8.1 and would prefer to remain on 8.0 please follow the steps below to migrate your version.
Please follow the steps below to migrate from the 8.1 platform back to the 8.0 platform:- Make sure all versions of NinjaTrader are Closed
- Go to the Windows Control Center > Click “Add/Remove Programs” (Sometimes “Uninstall a program” > Click NinjaTrader > Click Uninstall
- Click Next through the prompts until it is finished uninstalling
- Login into the NinjaTrader Account Dashboard
- Click "Download" in the bottom left-hand corner of the sidebar
- Next, select "Download" in the "Most Recent Release" Window on the main screen
- You may then select version 8.0.28.0 under 'Prior Release'
- After downloading, click on the file and Open or Run it > Click Next through the prompts until it is Finished installing
- From here you can reopen NinjaTrader and continue using the platform like before.

Thank you for the reply.
Although it's an issue that has been asked about, it's not a bad thing to ask again to keep it top of mind. But thanks for stating the obvious Bruce.
I've reverted to the old version as the password thing is a pain in the ass and also, I've had the chart freeze twice today and have needed to restart. Right now the new version seems unstable and shouldn't be put out.

How do I get those back?

OK, so this whole process completely ****ed up my NT. I can't even import NinjaScripts as it now says I have errors.
I'll probably have to remove everything NT from my Pc and start again.
HOW DO I ENSURE I HAVE ALL OF MY HISTORICAL DATA WHEN I REINSTALL the platform?

Hello TraderG23,
Thank you for your note.
To clarify, these items are held within the NinjaTrader 8 documents folder and should remain untouched when uninstalling.
When installing the previous version, was this folder removed or deleted manually by any chance? If so you may restore it from the Recycle Bin.
If not then we may just need to recompile your add-ons using the steps below:- Go to the Control Center > New > NinjaScript Editor
- Right-click in the NinjaScript Editor > select 'Compile'
A visual walkthrough of this process along with solutions to common compile errors may be found here in our Help Center.
To send a screenshot with Windows 10 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool - Click here for detailed instructionsSpencer F.NinjaTrader Customer Service

TraderG23 - re: your original Topic, search the Forum and you will find:
- script for use with Autohotkey
- link to a password manager Roboform confirmed to work (apparently some pw managers do not)
Hope this helps once you’ve dug yourself out of your current hole.
Welcome to Ninjatrader!

Yes, it is ridiculous to waste time typing user name and password each type we need to use Ninja Trader.
I guess the person from NT who decided it is not a day trader.
NT team should work on making NT easier to use, not more complicated, unless they want some people to move on and abandon NT.

You can use a custom .exe file to start NT8 and automatically fill your password for you, more info here: NinjaTrader 8 Autologin Tutorial
If you don't trust the exe file you can build it yourself: https://github.com/DeepSignalTech/NinjaTraderAutoLogin

You are not understanding the trouble here. In the time that you take to collect votes, your productivity and that of your programmer colleagues could be used to change the code so that the password is automatically remembered.
This forum remembers my password so I do not need to input it every time.
My data subscription services and brokers within NT8 all remember my password.
Please explain why can't the latest version of Ninja remember my password?

There is absolutely no trojan or any malicious thing inside this exe file. And again if you don't trust me (and this is a good thing to do by default), you can compile it yourself using this open source code: https://github.com/DeepSignalTech/NinjaTraderAutoLoginOriginally posted by oldporkchops View PostPossible Trojan detected by Virus Total.

YES, it is just common sense to remember the password. NT should do it ASAP.Originally posted by oldporkchops View PostYou are not understanding the trouble here.
