Update: I am having huge issues with this release. I was unable to find a document on how to downgrade. The process requires uninstalling 8.1.2.1, but I don't want to lose all my personal code/indicators/strategies. If anyone knows how to downgrade without losing code please advise.

Export/Import problem with latest release 8.1.2.1
I updated my machine this morning with the latest NT8 release. Tonight, I performed my first export. The backup file is 23% larger than my last one using the prior version. And, I tried to Import this same file, it's been running for 30 minutes, still in 'Unpacking NinjaTrader Archive'. I have rebooted, re-exported, and tried again. Same thing. I think I will revert back to prior version, but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this?

You can perform an uninstall/reinstall of NinjaTrader Desktop using the instructions below.
You will save all settings and data including your charts, indicators and strategies. They are saved at Documents-->NinjaTrader 8 which is not deleted when you uninstall NinjaTrader Desktop in Windows.- Shut down NinjaTrader Desktop
- Uninstall NinjaTrader Desktop via Windows start menu-->Settings-->Apps.
- Download and install NinjaTrader 8.1.1.7 as per the link below. You can find version 8.1.1.7 on the right under 'Prior Releases'.

To clean install 8.1.1.7 but save your work, make a copy of your Documents -> NinjaTrader 8 folder, or at least of your templates, workspaces, and bin folders, along with anything else you know you need from the NinjaTrader 8 folder. Then uninstall NinjaTrader using Settings -> Apps -> Installed Apps -> NinjaTrader -> Remove. Delete the folder Documents -> NinjaTrader 8. Delete the folder Program Files -> NinjaTrader 8. Install the older version. Copy your files back to where they were in Documents -> NinjaTrader 8. You can save Config.xml to save your connection information etc. and this usually works. Thanks Bruce and Jason for the info. I am slowly getting my machine back. I had to completely wipe the NinjaTrader 8 directory and start over. I was getting dozens of compiler errors referencing SuperDomColumns, something that I've never used, so I know I don't have any custom code using these objects. I'm guessing that when I aborted the Import after 30 minutes of waiting, I corrupted something. Anyway, I installed a vanilla 8.1.1.7, and am manually copying my scripts, templates, and workspaces a little at a time. Resolving assembly reference issues as I go. Jason - I don't believe its the Import/Export that's the issue. I think the actual issue is with recompiling. Anyway, quite the mess but I think I'm past the worst of it. Thank you both for your help.
