    Strategies run fine from chart but unable to run by using only the control center

    I wish to run a strategy from the control center without first attaching the strategy to a chart. I remember this being possible in older versions of Ninja.
    I am testing with a built in sample strategy. From the strategies tab, i right click and choose New Strategy. I then select a built in strategy and choose SIM101 acct.

    When I click OK the form goes away but no strategy appears in the control center strategies tab. I remember being able to enable and disable a strategy from the strategies tab without first needing to attach it to a chart.

    I am running the latest release of Ninjatrader 8... 8.1.2

    Did something change in the newer releases ?

    Do you have any filters enabled on the Strategies tab of the Control Center?

    Are there errors appearing on the Log tab of the Control Center when adding a new strategy instance?

      Hi , I have no filters applied... I can see all strategies attached to charts...both live and SIM strategies attached to my charts. When i try to add a strategy from the Control Center nothing happens ... The logs show messages related to the enabling of the strategies that i have attached to charts. When i add from the only the Control Center no new log messages are printed...simply nothing happens. I tried the Simple MA crossover as an example set to the SIM101 acct while connected to both Kinetic and Live feeds

        May I confirm you are using 8.1.2.0?

        I've tested but I am not able to reproduce.

          Correct I am running 8.1.2.0 .... i am debating re-install of ninja. I do have some custom strategies. Do you know if that stuff will survive a re-install or will I have to add each of these back manually?
          I am not to worried about the historical trades, i think i can get that from ninja brokerage side reports

            Hello mediaboy,

            An uninstall, re-install, or update will not remove NinjaScript Strategies, workspaces, database, or other files.

            If you would like to remove the database so this is regenerated, this is located in Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\NinjaTrader.sqlite.

              Thanks for the offer Chelsea.. I will try a re-install and if not working try remove db. I suspect one of these actions will fix. I will update this thread with results in case it will benefit someone else in future. Thanks !
