Playback Chart does not update

    Playback Chart does not update

    Hi,

    Im replaying data with the playback functionality. When I choose the data and launch a new chart I can see the trades being made in the chart trader but the chart itself does not update. I have to reload the data in the chart (ctrl + shift + R) to update the chart and see the new candles.

    I have data when I right click the Playback menu and click on "Show available data". I have "Tick replay" selected when loading a new chart if that helps.

    Is there any way I can fix this?

    Thank you for your inquiry and for using NinjaTrader.
    • What instrument symbol are you attempting to playback? (ES 09-23, ES 12-23, NQ 12-23, etc.)
    • What dates are you attempting to replay on the chart?
    • What 'Trading Hours' template do you have applied to the chart?
      • If you change the Trading Hours to 'Default 24/7', do you see the same?

      Hi,

      The instrument is NQ12-23, date is 2023/08/28 to 29. My trading Hours is on "Use instrument Settings". When I change it to "Default 24x7", the same thing happens, data is playing but the chart doesn't move.

        Thank you for your response.

        You will want to download and play back the NQ 09-23 contract instead. The playback connection is not like standard historical data and it does not autoamtically merge the contracts under the current front month. Since 09-23 was trading at that time, 12-23 was very low volume. Please redownload the data but use the NQ 09-23 contract when downloading instead. When you are ready to replay, please open a chart for NQ 09-23 as well.

            Good Morning,
            I have same problem and it seems to be happening inconsistently...

            I'm using recent playback dates that I'm accessing for ES DEC23, market replay download.
            Data runs in playback box, but does not update realtime on chart or superdom.
            I does, however update when I do a manual "reload all historical data."

            Unfortunately, issues like this are frustrating and don't speak well to a sense of software reliability.

              Thank you for your post.

              The Playback functionality is reliable. Generally, when people have an issue with it's use, it is simply due to a misunderstanding of how it works.
              • What dates are you attempting to replay on the chart?
              • What 'Trading Hours' template do you have applied to the chart?
                • If you change the Trading Hours to 'Default 24/7', do you see the same?
              • When you right-click on the Playback Controller and select 'Show Available Data', do you see each of those dates available for that specific instrument?
