Market Replay conversion from NT7 to NT8

Hi,

I have a few years of market replay data on NT7 and would like to move them to NT8. I didn't convert them when I first installed NT8 because I wanted to make sure there were no issues with NT8.

How do I go about converting the NT7 market replay to NT8 market replay?

Hello Kay Wai,

Unfortunately this is not supported. You can only migrate Market Replay data from the migration window.

You can re-enable the migration pop up as follows.

• Make sure NinjaTrader 8 is shut down.
• Navigate to Documents-->NinjaTrader 8.
• Right click the Config.xml file and select Open with-->Notepad.
• In Notepad, go to Edit-->Find.
• Type migratednt7 and hit Find Next.
• You should now see a line that says:
• <MigratedNT7> date of migration or "not migrated" </MigratedNT7>
• Please delete only this line.
• Go to File-->Save and close Notepad.

If you now start NinjaTrader 8, it will bring up the migration window again.

It will restore all settings from NinjaTrader 7 to NinjaTrader 8.

To avoid this, I suggest to proceed as follows.

• Shut down NinjaTrader Desktop
• Rename the "NinjaTrader 8" folder within the Documents folder to "NinjaTrader 8 Old". This folder contains all settings and data.
• Start NinjaTrader 8 and migrate your settings and data from NinjaTrader 7
• Once finished, please shut down NinjaTrader Desktop.
• Rename the "NinjaTrader 8" folder in the Documents folder to "NinjaTrader 8 Migrated".
• Rename the "NinjaTrader 8 Old" folder to "NinjaTrader 8"
• Then transfer the Documents-->NinjaTrader 8 Migrated-->db-->replay folder into the Documents-->NinjaTrader 8-->db folder.
