    8.1.2.0: compile (one more problem)

    Hi,

I've been waiting for the compilation to finish for more than 5 minutes already. Is this another "feature" of the new update? Bless the developers of these updates, oh Lord.
    Should I wait more?

    Hi,

I've tried to stop the process - please take a look. So cute.

      Hi,

My adventures continue. After the errors I mentioned above, the platform froze, and I forced it to close. After that, I tried to restart it. Here's a new error, and the platform doesn't start.

        Hi,

So, I've restarted my PC, and NT8 still can't load. I think I'll have to reinstall. Another day not wasted! Thanks to the developers for giving me various activities!

          Hi,

Sooo, let's continue. I've downgraded to 8.1.1.7 and tried to implement my old 'Documents/NinjaTrader 8' folder (in order to save all my latest projects) - I see the same error as above ('Unable to load NT custom assembly ...'). I think that my old folder is broken and I have to use the empty NT8 only (and restore all my projects manually one-by-one). Thanks again!

            Hello webus,

            Thank you for your post.

Please follow the steps below to manually send your log and trace files so I may investigate this matter further.
            • Open the Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" > 'NinjaTrader 8' folder
            • Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
            • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to an email to support [AT] ninjatrader [DOT] com
              • Please include 'ATTN Spencer' in the Subject line and a link to this forum post in the body of the email
            • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

              Hi NinjaTrader_Spencer,

Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to an email to support [AT] ninjatrader [DOT] com
Sorry, but I deleted the platform and installed it from scratch (8.1.1.7). As long as it's working, I don't want to touch anything. Everything is very fragile.

There is a bug in 8.1.2.0 such that if several changes occur (such as changing external files via Visual Studio or copying the files into the folder) it triggers an avalanche of recompiles that can take quite long to complete - so long in fact that it is often perceived that it is hung. This has been reported in other threads. Could be this is what happened to you here.

                  Hi NinjaTrader_Spencer and Quantkey_Bruce,

On a similar issue with Visual Studio and NT8.1.2.0, I am having problem with VS2022 (ver.17.8.1) complaining:
"Current solution contains incorrect configuration mappings..."

I have tried the following (with one OneDrive) without resolving the problem:
                  1. Delete the .\NinjaTrader 8\tmp folder, recompiled with debug option.
                  2. Initiate VS using via the NT8 editor.
                  3. VS displays the incorrect configuration mappings message.
                  4. The break point red solid circle is shown - no problem so far.
                  5. Via VS Debug, attach the Ninjatrader.exe for debugging.
                  6. The break point red solid circle turns into a unfilled circle - commenting that the source code is different from the original version.
                  7. Debugging can be continued by deslecting the option to accept debugging with different source files.
                  8. Also tried running Code Cleanup on VS solution explorer, but did not solve the problem.
                  9. Changing the application target framework to .NET Framework 4.0, but did not solve the problem.
I tried again on a different PC without using OneDrive and the result is the same.
                  Relevant error screens attached.

                    Hi NinjaTrader_Spencer and Quantkey_Bruce,
Please ignore my yesterday's email regarding debugging with VS2022, as this issue is already being discussed in another thread.
