FX positions are not shown with IB

Hello,

I want to inform about an issue trading FX with IB.

In some cases, IB disables their FX virtual positions and the trade is only shown in the currency balances. Some traders are not eligible for FX virtual positions. When this happens, FX positions are not shown in the positions tab and orders appear as rejected.

Do you have "Include virtual FX positions when sending portfolio" enabled in the TWS API settings? If so, does it make a difference if you test with this setting disabled (before you connect to Interactive Brokers in NinjaTrader Desktop)?

If the issue remains, please send me an email from within NinjaTrader Desktop as per the instructions below.

• Go to Control Center-->Help-->Email Support
• Set the To field to Platform Technical Support
• Enter "Att Jason, 04127781" in the "Subject" field
• Include for what instrument, time and price you submitted the order that is rejected under 'Please enter any information that you feel will help us resolve your inquiry'.
• Make sure "Log and trace files" is enabled
• Click Send

This is not a Ninjatrader issue. When this FX virtual positions are enables I can see them in NT8. They also limited FX trading and they force tou to use CFD's. Can I use CFDs with Nt8 through IB?

CFD instruments based on index futures are supported with Interactive Brokers in NinjaTrader Desktop. Unfortunately CFD instruments based on stock and forex instruments are not supported.

If you check the instrument settings of a CFD instrument and there is a symbol map defined for Interactive Brokers, it is supported.

• Go to Control Center-->Tools-->Instruments
• Set Search to CFD
• Double click a CFD instrument
• Check the Interactive Brokers row under Symbol Map

It seems that the only broker that accepts CFDs based on FX is FOREX.com. Does FOREX.com allow Forex spot market trading?

FOREX.com does not allow Forex trading through NT from EU countries. Can you provide a list o NT compatible brokers that can be used from Spain?

Yo uso IB desde Espańa, creo que es lo mejor que encontraras compatible con NT por comisiones y operativa.
El problema que te encontraras es que algunos productos no los podrás operar por normativa UCITS.

Yo también soy cliente de IB ahora mismo pero han cambiado sus políticas. Ahora no se puede hacer FOREX trading en mercado spot con margen ni apalancamiento. Me ofrecen la posibilidad de usar CFD's pero no con compatibles con NT.

Solo me queda cambiar.

Entiendo que debe ser un problema de normativa europea, cada vez recortan más los instrumentos de inversión para los europeos. Ni ETF de EE. UU. dejan negociar, al final te tocará ir a un bróker de fuera de la comunidad europea.

The currently supported Forex brokers with NinjaTrader are Forex.com, Interactive Brokers, and FXCM. I would recommend contacting these brokers directly for more information on whether they support trading their accounts from Spain through NinjaTrader.
