    Rithmic connection - dangerous combination with danger of freezing

    Hello together,

    during the development of our current add-on we noticed a serious problem within NT already a few months ago.

    With this post I would like to call on you to reproduce this yourself and to report it independently here at NT.

    The problem itself was confirmed to us in the meantime, after long mail communication, by NT and could also be reproduced by their developers.

    What is it about:
    If you use Rithmic as data feed, not in PlugIn mode but directly, there seems to be a problem in the Rithmic API or interface in the instrument mapping.

    Apparently, when moving orders in the market, either by move in the chart or by a strategy, the mapping of the labels, so for example ES CME12-23 and CMEESDEC mixed up. This leads to a freeze of NT.
    Unfortunately, the freeze happens before orders are deleted.
    Thus, these orders must then be deleted, for example, via the RTrader.

    We could often reproduce this problem when trading with multiple orders in the market.
    With a single order it happens in maybe 1 out of 10 cases.

    It is also important to mention that this problem does not occur with a Tradovate connection. I think other data feeds should not be affected here either.


    This problem has nothing to do with the AddOn, as we were able to recreate it completely without it.

    Maybe some will be able to recreate it on their own and maybe it will save some from losses.

    Beg pardon, but ... uh ... why?

    If NT has confirmed the problem, and their developers have
    reproduced it ... what more can the forum community do?

      The forum community can't do anything anyway. But it is still interesting to find out who else is affected by the problem and under what conditions. You don't have to have an answer for everything ;-)
