Login Error - 404 Not Found

Hi,

I have been running NinjaTrader on my VPS for a few weeks now. Yesterday, I tried to login and was met with the following error




I tried to find out what was going on and realised account.ninjatrader.com was returning a 404 Not Found error even when trying to access it via my browser. However ninjatrader.com and all other subdomains were working just fine.

I'm quite perplexed as to what might be going on so I'm posting this here hoping that the technical team can advise. A 404 Error implies a server-side error, and if I'm not mistaken this doesn't seem to be a block of any sort because that would typically return a 403, or a message on my browser saying "this site can't be reached" or similar.

I'm able to login on my end. I have not seen reports from other users so far either.

If you are still unable to login, please troubleshoot the issue with the steps below. Test for the issue after each step.

• Restart NinjaTrader
• Restart your modem and (if applicable) router
• Restart your PC/server
• Clear your DNS [*=1]Open the Command Prompt: https://www.howtogeek.com/235101/10-...in-windows-10/ [*=1]In the command prompt, run this command: ipconfig /flushdns
• If you are not already and the option is available to you, connect to the internet using an ethernet cable. Wireless connections are significantly more unreliable.
• Ensure exceptions have been added into any firewall/antivirus/backup programs for the Documents > "NinjaTrader 8" folder.
• Ensure that your computer is not turning off your Network Adapter to conserve power: [*=1]Right-click on your Start button [*=1]Select 'Device Manager' [*=1]Expand 'Network Adapters' [*=1]Right-click on your Network Adapter and select Properties > Power Management [*=1]Uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' option [*=1]Click 'OK' to save the changes [*=1]Do this for all Network Adapters

I mentioned above that I'm using a VPS so I can't follow all of your advised steps, however I did all the ones I could to no avail.

I also reached out to my provider who confirmed they have zero blocks in place of any sort, and they asked me to confirm with you guys if your WAF is blocking.

It's definitely a strange issue, everything was working fine up until a couple days ago.

Are you able to log into the Account Dashboard from a web browser on your computer?

If you test the NinjaTrader Desktop platform on your computer, does the issue persist? Or does the issue only happens when you run NinjaTrader Desktop on the VPS?

Some locations are blocked, but you would see a "403 Forbidden" error. We are not blocking anything else.

Where is the VPS located? You can check this using post 18 of the forum thread below.

I have the same problem error 404 not found, neither ninja nor the ninja website opens on my VPS, I have already done all the tests and I cannot access it, I ask for help to solve this problem.

Hello RicoQuirino,

The login error of your screenshot indicates the user is blocked due to the physical IP location or the countries the ISP is routing the connection through. Could it be the VPS is located in Russia or it connects through Russia?

You can use the link below on the VPS to check its IP location.

If so, please contact the VPS and check if they can give you a different IP location.

If not located in Russia, please check with the VPS through what countries you connect.

On the website provided, it gives the location in Russia, but my VPS reported that it is in Vienna, please I need someone to help me. Is there any other step I should do?

Can you please contact the VPS and request a different location. Let them know that the link below shows the location in Russia.

There is nothing that NinjaTrader can do to help you because the problem is the company you're using for the VPS has bad IP reputation.
