    DXfeed Connection

Is it possible to connect a DXfeed to NT8's desktop platform? DX sells a bundle for NT8 and I think I remember seeing a configurable connection in the past, but it is not an option any longer.

    Hello ArkansasClint,

    Thank you for writing in.

Yes, this is possible. While I cannot post an external link to something other than a NinjaTrader product, I was able to find the connection guide on Google by searching for:
    • 'dxfeed zendesk: ninjatrader[dot]com'

Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with.

To the OP, did you ever test out the connection?

Yes. Works great. I use it for historical data to load the charts and broker equity options through TD Ameritrade. Also get historical replay data as well.

            Cool!, thankx Clint.
Do you use DXFEED for real time data as well, or who do you use for real time feed?

I use TDA for live data because that is my equities broker. I use DX feed as an open, backup connection. Essentially, both are open at the same time but the TDA connection is running the trades. DX has tick data so I can populate NT8's more powerful, tick level volume profile. It can also run the volumetric charts and cumulative delta for Bid, Ask and Up, Down tick. TDA will load them and run them as well, but they won't provide any historical data. With TDA, you get what you get from when you open a chart and that time forward, nothing back. With DX I can get the back data for as far back as my memory can handle.

I open both DX and the TDA connections. I set the account to the TD account. That way, I can use both data feeds but broker off the TDA.

Okay. Broker is different from data feed. I can have one feed for historical from one company, one feed for real time from a different company, and have a third company for the broker.
(sorry for the questions, appreciate you responding).

Focusing on the data feeds, under "Tools"->"Options"->MarketData: you have TDA as "Preferred connections -- real-time", and "DXfeed" as "Preferred connections --historical" is that correct?
