I was able to log into rithmic thanks to the great info from here, just had to wait
now
I want to download NT8. I watched the setup video that came with Apex 100 times, and it clearly has opening a NT account as one of the steps. Clearly as a Canadian I do not have Canada as an option in the drop down menu. I went through some threads on here about this issue, but being brand new to this I have absolutely no understanding of using another brokerage to get my NT going, or any of that. Should I simply go through support, or are there other options for a Canadian to download NT? Again, thanks so much

just wanted to update this. Ive downloaded NT8, can do the SIM but do not know where to put my key in. The spot to put my key after watching the APEX video doesnt exists. Wondering if there is somewhere in the NT software menu to insert the key

the drama continues. I was able to import the key, but now it wont let me click live trading, only the SIM. In order to get live trading it STILL tells me to set up an account, and at the moment I cant do that cause of the whole Canada thing

i am on an eval account but i dont really know what im doing in this setup to be honest

Well, if you're using Apex eval account, I presume you are 'removed'
from having to care about the Canadian requirements you mention.

I mean, you already have a broker -- it is Apex.

From the point of view of the NinjaTrader desktop application, all
prop firms are brokers.

I'm confused by the continuing saga of your troubles.

Within NinjaTrader, if you can connect to Rithmic using
your Apex provided Rithmic credentials, I think you are
basically done with account setup.

You got me confused.

Haven't you already successfully connected to Apex from
inside your NinjaTrader desktop?

Connecting to RTrader/Pro is another different step, I mean
have you setup a NinjaTrader 'Connection' for Apex, and then,
after setting up that Connection, have you connected to it?

the continuing saga was due to me watching the setup video 984 times and apparently blacking out every time the mutli provider instructions rolled across the screen

You are not a moron.

Despite what the NinjaTrader folks like to think,
it is a very daunting task for newbies to do a
first time install & setup of NinjaTrader.

10+ years ago, I guess it was a luxury to have
a fellow human sit down with me and show me
how to use NT7 -- soon, I was hooked.

I tell you this much, many instructions in the trading
world don't suffer fools well -- if they say do something,
then you'd better do that something or you'll probably
be hosed later.

Keep alert for those kind of things.

I mean, it's not liking setting up a BBQ in your back
yard, opening the box and ignoring the instructions
booklet -- with all things trading, you absolutely must
read (even study) and follow all directions.

It's actually been helpful a few times to get out a
notepad and write down the steps as I read them
(or, in a video, view them) so that I can develop
a personal checklist of what to do.

That's the best technique I know of when you are
running solo with something and you must get it
done right -- study the material, make your own
checklist, physically write the steps down as you
discover what they are.
