Absolutely Losing My Marbles

This may be an apex/rithmic issue but,....Im brand new, just opened an Apex account. Followed the instructions to a T, downloaded rtrader pro and all I get over and over and overrrrrr when i try to log in is login failed contact administrator. Not only do I have no clue whats going on, but who do i contact? If this doesnt belong here Im sorry, Im just beyond frustrated

You can only connect to Rithmic during trading hours, usually around 30 minutes before market opens you should be able to connect.

Unfortunately, you have a very common complaint.

Which is ... NinjaTrader and many of its data partners
make very minimal to zero efforts to keep their customers
abreast of scheduled downtime.

For as long as I can remember, they just don't care
about this -- as long as they achieve 100% uptime
when the markets are open, they always seem to
be forgiven by everyone for these frustrating down
times on the weekends, which is usually when all
the new people pull their hair out trying to connect.

Here is what I've learned over the last 10+ years.

Ie, here's the 'correct' attitude you must adopt -- if
not for your sanity, then at least because it explains
the current situation and satisfies the 'why' and 'what
and I doing wrong' questions.

1. It's the weekend.

2. Markets are closed

3. Server maintenance is only done on weekends.

To wit:
When the markets are closed, there is little to no
guarantee that your ability to connect will succeed.

When the connection fails, and markets are closed,
you just have to have faith that the error message
you're seeing is lying -- it is over-used and simply
can't be trusted when the markets are not open.

Try again after markets open Sunday afternoon.

When you get that error message and the markets
are open -- only then do you have a problem.

Only during trading hours?
Only? Really?

Well, the way you worded that -- it's not strictly true.

I have seen Rithmic available even when the markets
are closed -- but on weekends there is simply no
guarantee.

In other words, when the markets are closed, down
time is hap hazard and not very predictable -- there
is no public resource for viewing scheduled weekend
maintenance, so you just have to be patient.

But yes, as the market open deadline approaches on
Sunday, Rithmic and all the rest of the data providers
always become available for connection.
