    NT Desktop setup

    For reference: I've been using Tradovate for years and tradestation for longer. I branched into tradestation easylanguage to test out algorithms. Some of my trading folks have recommended Ninjatrader and I would like to try out its algo trading capabilities.

    I have NT8 downloaded/installed.
    I have a non-default workspace setup with my chart, CC, Strategy Analyzer, and NS Editor.

    Issues:
    I can't seem to make the chart perform any trades.
    I can't tell if the account that I'm attempting to trade is sim or live
    Disabling and re enabling my strategy gives no errors, but performs no actions.
    The log shows no errors or otherwise questionable issues.
    I have no messages.
    I have no orders or executions.
    The "Run" function for my algorithm on backtesting produces no trades. (It's not a strategy issue as the strategy is on the 1 minute and is an EMA cross over MA. It's more for testing to make sure the platform is doing something. Yes its a horrible strategy but it's for testing.)

    The only thing I've been able to make NT do is populate chart information, live.

    Otherwise nothing seems to respond nor tell me I have any errors/issues.

    As you are describing multiple behaviors that are not being reported by multiple users, please write into our support team directly with your log and trace files so we may help you look into these behaviors directly.
    • The forum is better for one-off technical questions, not actually diagnosing and looking into a unique behavior.

    Please use the following steps to send your log and trace files to the support team directly from your NinjaTrader Platform so we may investigate this behavior further:
    • Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
    • To: Set this to "Platform Technical Support"
    • Subject: Copy and paste the Forum URL into the Subject line
    • Attach any screenshots that could help demonstrate the behavior
    • Include any other information you would like to share on the situation
    • Make sure 'Log and Trace files' is checked to include the requested files
      • Send the email
