Unable to connect to live trading account in NinjaTrader

    Good morning, fellow Ninjas!

I'm having trouble connecting to my live trading account. This morning, when I tried to log in, I got a yellow status light and an error message saying "Live: Unable to connect to the remote server: (Logon failed)". I've already changed my settings and configured my connection according to the documentation, but I'm still having problems.

Here are some screenshots to help you understand what I'm seeing attached.

I'm not sure what else to do. This was working perfectly fine less than 10 hours ago. I'm also unable to access my online account. I can sign into the NinjaTrader online profile, but then it just gets stuck on a loading screen. I can't even withdraw my money.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

        Hello Nicky_P,

        Thank you for your post.

Recently there have been no widespread outages reported.

This error most commonly occurs when NinjaTrader is unable to communicate with the servers due to it being blocked by another program, or there is an issue in the path between your computer and the appropriate servers.

Please check for software such as (corporate) firewalls, spyware, and anti-virus software that could block NinjaTrader. In some cases, the modem/router has built-in software that prevents the connection from being established.

To resolve this, I recommend the following steps (test for the issue after each step):
        • Restart your modem and (if applicable) router
        • Restart your PC
        • Also, ensure that your computer is not turning off your Network Adapter to conserve power:
          • Restart NinjaTrader
          • Right-click on your Start button
          • Select 'Device Manager'
          • Expand 'Network Adapters'
          • Right-click on your Network Adapter and select Properties > Power Management
          • Uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' option
          • Click 'OK' to save the changes
          • Do this for all Network Adapters
        • Clear your DNS
        • If you are not already and the option is available to you, connect to the internet using an ethernet cable. Wireless connections are significantly more unreliable.
        • Ensure exceptions are added to any firewall/antivirus/backup programs for the Documents > "NinjaTrader 8" folder.

Okay so i reached out to support and worked with them alllllll Morning and finally solved the issue. AS simple as some of the steps may seem do all the steps in order and leave Router and modem unplugged also unplug the ethernet plug ( This will force a new IP be assigned to your Router from your modem) then proceed to flushing the DNS also I unplugged the ethernet from my back of my PC all was unplugged for 2 min.

And i kid you not i was able to log on to everything. including the website side.

My BEST guess from an engineering standpoint is that NT has some high level IP filtering and security in place, which makes sense to me as a security engineer and I am glad to see. So i think I just needed a new fresh IP address and or my DNS was cached up and now that im able to connect suggests that NinjaTrader may have been blocking my previous IP address.

          I hope this helps
S/O to Eli for the support
