    Alert

    Hello!

I'm using alerts, and use "sound" and "popup".
I noticed that both (sound & popup) work good sometimes, and sometimes not.

Is there any reason for fhat?

    Hello TRADER_F,

Thank you for your post and for using NinjaTrader.

When the sound and pop-up do not work as expect, is the alert actually triggering at that time? You can use the Alerts Log window to monitor this. To open an Alerts Log, please go to New > Alerts Log. If the alert has triggered, an entry will appear in the log at that time and the name of the alert will be visible.

I look forward to your response.

      Hello Zachary!

Alert is triggered, but sometimes it works (sound and popup) and sometimes doesn't work.

        Hello TRADER_F,

        Thank you for your response.

Generally speaking, the only time that I could see the sound and pop-up not working as expected is if the alert is not triggering. Just to confirm, you've verified using the Alert Log that the alert is indeed triggering at the time that the actions are not working?

If so, do you see any errors in the log tab of the platform?

Lastly, what rearm type are you using for the alert?

I look forward to your reply.

          Hello Zachary!

I was checking alert log. Some alerts were triggered, other no. I was checking the rules, and they are coded correctly.
BUT, I think it's necessary code everything again.

These alerts are easily corrupted. I will show you an example: take a look at attached file.... alert was corrupted!

YOU, from Ninja, must elaborate a way to save Alert templates.

I'll have to code ALL OF THEM.... again!

            Hello TRADER_F,

            Thank you for your response.

In the condition builder, are the missing part of the conditions that you shared in that shot related to native components of the platform or items that were imported into the platform?

Thanks again; I look forward to your reply.

                Hello TRADER_F,

                Thank you for your response.

I have not experienced a similar situation when I use only components that are included with the platform, but I may be missing something when I am testing. Do you have any particular sets of conditions that I can use or a set of steps that I can follow to reproduce the problem on my side?

I look forward to assisting you further.

I've lost many and many hours on it!

I don't have time to be a tester...

Rules are very simple... Sometimes work, sometimes not work. That's ridiculous!

You, NINJA, must provide to us (customer that have paid more than $1,000 for this license) a way to save "Alert Templates".... ASAP

                    Hello TRADER_F,

                    Thank you for your response.

I don't expect you to do any testing, I'm asking you questions to get information about the problem that you are experiencing so I can help. I've done a lot of testing with many different alert configurations in an effort to see if I can isolate the source of the problem. Unfortunately, I have not experienced a situation where my alerts cease to function and conditional objects disappear in the way that you've shown in your screenshot. With that being the case, I'm unable to determine the cause. I'm trying to find a reproduceable scenario that I can use to pinpoint the problem or report to our developers if necessary. I understand if you're unsure and don't have that information at the moment, but if you do happen to notice a particular commonality or set of steps that I can reference to reproduce the problem on my end, please feel free to let me know and I will incorporate that into my testing.

With regard to your second request, I do see that a vote had previously been added to an existing request that we have for such a feature. The ID number for this request is SFT-1988. At this time, I wouldn't have any specific information to offer regarding a timeline for the implementation of this feature.

As I mentioned, as you work with the platform as you normally do, please let me know if you happen to notice any specific steps or anything that these alerts have in common that seem to result in the behavior that you encounter and I'd be happy to continue my testing of this with that information in mind.

                      Hello Zachary,

Yesterday I sent you a screen of corrupted alert.

But some alerts that apparentely are not corrupted (codes seem to be correct) are not appearing on "Alert log".
                      I have removed "popups".
I'm monitoring alerts by "Alert log". If alerts don't work I think the problem is the code. I need remove them and code all them again.

                        So far so good!

Interesting, I removed popups and now it's working ok (apparentely)!

About priority (see attached file!), what does it mean?

Yesterday when alerts were not working properly, 2 actions of alerts were: first popup (priority high), and second sound.

                        Today, just sound....

                          Hello TRADER_F,

                          Thank you for your response.

The 'Priority' setting determines the alert's priority in the Alerts Log window, which allows you to filter the Alerts Log by alerts of only a specific type or sort by the 'Priority' column if you choose to.

Please let us know if we may assist you any further.

                            Hello Zachary!

I use proprietary Renko bars (with wick).

I have doubt which Price Type is correct (please, see attached file!).

I'll give you a simple example to we both work on it. Let's suppose I wanna create an alert with sound (or popup) every time instrument price touches EMA 20 (Exponential Moving Average 20).
Remember that this candle (wick renko bar) has wick low, wick high, open & close.
But I don't care if wick low or wick high or open or close touches EMA20. In other words, I don't care which parte of renko bar touched EM20.

The important for me is: Instrument price touched EMA20.

                            Regards!

                              Hello TRADER_F,

Thank you for your post and I hope you are well today.

In that case, you would likely want to use 'Close' as the price type. Close and Last are essentially synonymous when configuring price-based alerts in this way, as long as you have your EMA 20 set to calculate On each tick.

Please let us know if we may assist you any further.
