    Playback Issues with imported historical data

    Hi everyone,

    I'm trying to explore the platform and get market playback working for me. It looks like my data import works fine, but I am unable to start playback as dates are not selectable. I import the minute data from another broker. I reformatted per the rules in the help guide.

    NT says data was successfully imported. When I go to connections -> playback, I can see my data here:

    I hit continue, and the playback window opens up. I did note that in the log, it's connecting to a ninjatrader endpoint on port 31655. I don't have an account with NT, as I just wanted to see the platform before diving in. Could that be the issue?

    My problem is here. I can't select a start or end date. If I hit start, I get a warning saying there are no replay data files to play:

    If I right click and hit show available data, I can see my imported SPY data there. Any suggestions or ideas?

    Hello smomo,

    Unfortunately you can't replay historical minute data with the Playback connection. Only historical tick data can be used with the Playback connection (when 'Historical' is enabled instead of 'Market Replay').

    You can download Market Replay data at Control Center-->Tools-->Historical Data-->Get Market Replay data. However there is no Market Replay data available to download for stocks.

    If you have historical tick data in .txt files, please import the historical tick data and you can use it with the Playback connection.

    You don't need a trading account with the NinjaTrader Brokerage to use the Playback connection in the NinjaTrader Desktop platform.
