I'm new to Ninjatrader and just updated my demo account to a funded account. I was wondering if it is possible to configure NinjaTrader to give a warning when the session time for a symbol is changed due to holidays. I live in the Netherlands and due to time zone differences its easy to end up holding a contract outside of the trading hours, which I don't want as a beginner. Foreign holidays make it especially tricky for me to avoid the night session. Any advice?

Exchange Holidays warning
Hi everyone,

Hello board game geek,
Thank you for your post and for using NinjaTrader.
There is not a way to configure a holiday in alert in NinjaTrader with the preconfigured tools. You do have access to a calendar on your NinjaTrader Account Dashboard, however. You can view the calendar by visiting the link below and signing in:
If you'd prefer something more in-line with what you are describing, there is likely a third party add-on that may offer this functionality. I'd suggest doing a search for some like 'ninjatrader holiday alert indicator' or a similar phrasing using an online search engine.
Please let us know if we may assist any further in the future.

Btw, in which time zone is the NinjaTrader calender denoted? I can't find the time zone anywhere.

Hello Board game geek,
Thank you for your response.
The calendar available on your Account Dashboard usually only displays the dates of each event, and provides a link to the resources where you can learn more so there isn't necessarily a specific time zone. Is there a specific part of the calendar that you are referring to? Feel free to include a screenshot if you'd like.
I look forward to your reply.

Hello Zachary,
Thanks for clarifying this, you are my knight in shinnin' armor. I don't think you realize how much headache you just saved me from. Can I ask you one more question? I'll promise to stop wasting your time after his.
I exclusively trade the Micro E-mini Nasdaq future. Do you have any recommendation on which time zone I should set NinjaTrader to better keep track of the trading hours for this future? My country is extremely tiny and easily fits multiple times in the 15 degrees of the meridian, so we only have one time zone. The United States however is "slightly' larger and has a motherload of time zones, which is throwing me for a loop. I'm probably just overthinking this, but I just want to be sure.

Hello Board game geek,
Thank you for your response.
This is really just a matter of preference and what is easiest for you. The CME exchange (which is the exchange that MES is listed on) is located in Central Time and times & holidays are listed as such within the CME US Index trading hours templates in the platforms, so you may find that changing your platform to Central Time would help you stay organized with regard to the holiday schedule.
Please let us know if we may assist you any further.Last edited by NinjaTrader_Zachary; 10-10-2023, 02:40 PM.

I wish I could give you a medal for the customer service. Anyhow, thanks for your help. I will definitely upgrade now to the Lifetime Account Plan in the forseeable future, because of your excellent service.

Re: is tomorrow a holiday? There’s an app in the user app share called something like ‘is tomorrow holiday’……
