Hello timmbbo,
Thank you very much for your post.
The current NinjaTrader 8 requires at least a 64-bit compatible Windows 10 or 11 operating system.
While it might still be possible to install or launch it on Windows 7 and 8, the platform would not be able to connect to many providers or run reliably, as many of the prerequisites (e.g. the SSL protocol and .NET Framework) are not available prior to an up-to-date Windows 10 (I would suggest at least the May 2019 update).
Older NinjaTrader 8 versions that might still run on Windows 7 (even though it was never officially supported, as it required Windows 8 upon launch), would not be able to connect to most providers, as newer connection adapters have become required since these versions were released.
I hope for your understanding in this regard, please don't hesitate to let me know, should you have any further questions!

Yep. NT8.0.26.0 with new certificates works like a charm (CQG, Kinetick). Just make sure you have installed all critical updates.

Manfred, thanks for the quick reply.
I'm not trading with this version of NT, or even connecting it online. Instead, I want to run optimizations on it. I have a few dozen optimization runs I want to run, where each one takes 24-36 hours to complete. I have a few old stale Win7 machines. Ideally, I'd like to ramp up a few of these older machines, just to grind away on optimizations. That's all I need.

Hello timmbbo,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I suspect that you should be able to accomplish this, using an older NinjaTrader version (as Leeroy_Jenkins mentioned).
However, as NinjaTrader 8 is not officially compatible with Windows 7 and we are not able to provide older versions (as these reintroduce known bugs), our ability to assist in this case would be very limited, I hope for your understanding.

Manfred, bummer to hear, but I was able to get an older version of NT8 going on my Win7 machine, after I installed SP2. I get it that you don't want to be in the business of supporting older versions, but sometimes I wish there was more flexibility when a person only needs a version of NT to grind away on Optimization. Thanks,

You might want to check out dedicated servers for the purpose, especially if you only need it short term for a month or two. Instead of spending 4 grand on a 2nd computer, I signed up for the new dedicated server offered at ninjamobiletrader vps and now my optimizations that used to take over 18 hours to complete now finish in just a few minutes.Originally posted by timmbbo View PostManfred, thanks for the quick reply.
