I'm new to Ninja Trader and had my account approved today. I haven't funded the account or used the live trading function and only plan to exclusively use simulator mode for the next 6 ~12 months, before going live. Does the inactivity fee also applies to my account or is this only for accounts that are funded and/or trading live?

Account Activation and Inactivity Fee
Hi everyone,
I'm new to Ninja Trader and had my account approved today. I haven't funded the account or used the live trading function and only plan to exclusively use simulator mode for the next 6 ~12 months, before going live. Does the inactivity fee also applies to my account or is this only for accounts that are funded and/or trading live? -
Hello Board Game geek,
Thank you for your post.
This fee applies to a client that connects to their account directly within the NinjaTrader Desktop platform, Web, and/or Mobile and does not place a round trip live trade for the current month.
Note: Logging into the Desktop Splash screen or into the Client Dashboard does not count towards receiving an Inactivity Fee for the month.
You may find a list of Fees in the link below:Spencer F.NinjaTrader Customer Service

English isn't my first language, so just te be sure. Is it correct that if I use the simulator in the Ninja Trader desktop program, the inactivity fee applies?

... and to add to what NinjaTrader_Spencer said, if you trade using SIM101 and connect to your as-yet-unfunded account to receive data for those trades in SIM101 (i.e. NOT using simulated data, but live data to trade in a simulated account), you will probably be charged an inactivity fee because you are using the data from the "live" account, and you are not placing any actual live trades in that account. Perhaps NinjaTrader_Spencer can confirm or correct that statement?
Thanks.

Hello jeronymite,
Thank you for your post.
Yes, you are correct, and thank you for the clarification, connecting to an account that is funded and not still in the Demo Trial period of 14 days would be eligible for an Inactivity Fee.
To avoid this fee when connecting to a live funded account for data, you must place just 1 round trip trade per month.Spencer F.NinjaTrader Customer Service

You can always just place a quick buy & sell for 1 mnq once a month, you may even make a buckOriginally posted by Board game geek View PostHi everyone,

Hi!
If I only connect via Simulated Data Feed, Playback and a broker connection.
The inactivity fee would be applied?

Hello eduardopoletto,
If the broker connection you are referring to is a Funded NinjaTrader Brokerage account then yes if you connect to it through the NinjaTrader software you are eligible to receive an Inactivity Fee if no live trade is placed within the current month.Spencer F.NinjaTrader Customer Service

By broker connection I mean a CFD connection
Simulated Data Feed, Playback and a broker connection (FOREX.COM)
How about that?

Hello,
I do not fully understand the Inactivity Fee. Currently, I have the NinjaTrader live account which I have funded, I use a free account plan and I have a subscription to CME Bundle market data (standard $12 per month). I also make the trades at least once a month so I have never paid the inactivity fee. But, I want to cancel/pause my subscription to the market data for a while, cause I want to use data provided by Rithmic (using a Bulenox funded account). So, in this case, will I also be charged the Inactivity Fee?

It says specifically "Existing accounts that log in to their trading solution but do not make any trades in the live trading environment during the month will be assessed a $25 fee." here https://ninjatrader.com/pricing/account-fees/Originally posted by Olo007 View PostHello,

But I am not sure if using your live account login on the NinjaTrader login popup to start NT8 counts as "log in to their trading solution". Also not sure if logging into the website counts either.
So I think what you can do to be safe is just make a 2nd NinjaTrader account using a new email, and use that with your Bulenox Rithmic.
