    New Update in Q3?? Not!

    Hello together,

    NinjaTrader has announced in several posts that the new update which is supposed to fix many, really serious issues, will be released in Q3 2023.
    When I asked the sales and vendor support what is going on with the update, I was told today that internal testing is ongoing and there is no release date for the update yet.

    I am really more than disappointed and frustrated that we as developers and entrepreneurs, who are dependent on the NinjaTrader works without errors and we as traders need an error-free function mandatory, are stalled here so. First it is always referred to Q3 so that one gives peace and now there is not even a date.
    This is an incredibly bad business practice.
    If you can't meet a deadline, then don't give one.
    If you don't have enough capacity to test, then set up a beta program for developers so they can support you.
    But do something!​

    Yes, it's really a shame how NT treats its people. Unfortunately it's not getting better, it's getting worse, at least that's my feeling. I reported an extremely annoying bug around June 28, 2023. The bug sometimes causes the platform to freeze when a trade is closed. The only problem now is that you can't do anything except restart NT when this happens. In a live account, this can cost a lot of money! I was advised by support that I could continue trading Web or via Tradovate as an alternative until the error was fixed. That's a joke. What kind of statement from support is that!

    I was told by support that this bug should actually have been fixed in a previous update, unfortunately that wasn't the case. I've been waiting for the update that was promised to me for Q3.2023 for over 3 months now, and today I find out that it will take even longer until they have completed all the tests. No new date was given. I just don't have the words to say that. I know I could use an earlier version where the problem doesn't occur, but that's of no use to me as a developer because I want and need to always be able to work with the latest version.

      Thank you for posting your concern on the forums.


      We are still on track to release an update to NinjaTrader in the upcoming weeks, your concerns are not going unnoticed. We generally avoid giving people a deadline as things can go south and not work as intended causing code to be revised multiple times over.

      While I understand that this is not the answer you were hoping for, I figured it was best to provide you with some sort of insight instead of letting you bask in the idea that nothing is being done.


      Please keep an eye on the NinjaTrader changelog for updates.
