All hot keys are inactive when a modal form has focus

Just trying to add a hot key for chart drawings and this warning came up. It then doesn't associate the new hot key.
How do I fix this?

Thanks for your post.

Hot Keys are window sensitive. This means that Hot Keys will only work when the active window is selected. The name of the window that needs to be active is located in the left column of the Hot Keys window.

Modal focus indicates any window that must be closed before other items can be used. For example, the chart's Data Series window has to be closed before you can click on anything else in NinjaTrader because it has modal control.

For another example, if you go to the Tools > Options window. When this window is open, it is modal -- no other windows will be clickable, and a sound will play if you attempt clicks outside the modal / Options window. When this modal open, no hotkeys can be used.

I go to ->Tools->Hot keys->Chart->Drawing->"Remove drawing objects" then I assign a hot key for it and it gives this Warning popup after I assign a Hot Key.

Thanks for your notes.

I followed the steps provided and see the message you are referring to.

This window is simply a Warning message to let you know that all Hot Keys are inactive when a modal form has focus.

After assigning a Hot Key to 'Remove drawing objects' and clicking OK, the Warning pop-up window will appear. Simply click 'OK' on the pop-up window to acknowledge the warning message.

I think it gives this warning everytime you modify hot keys. Whew I was thinking it was something I was doing wrong. It did actually update the hot keys like I wanted after re-starting the platform.
