    Alerts

    Hi!

The alerts I set on chart are gone when I change the asset?
And when I change the workspace?

    Thanks.

    Hello eduardopoletto,

Thank you very much for your post.

Alerts are specific to the instrument and window they are created in. As such, they would not apply once you switch the instrument or workspace.

As the alert and instrument are connected, it would not currently be possible to transfer or copy this to a different instrument.

Please don't hesitate to let me know, should you have any further questions!

      Hi Manfred!

When I set an alert on an instrument, and I change the instrument of that chart, the alert is disabled?

      Thanks!

        Hello eduardopoletto,

Thank you very much for your reply.

That is correct. The instrument needs to be actively charted for the alert to trigger.

If the instrument is not being charted data for the instrument would not be requested and indicators are not being calculated; This would also stop the alert from functioning.

Please don't hesitate to let me know, should you have any further questions!

Is there a way to track instruments with alerts? Is there a tool in Ninja Trader for that?

The Alerts window (New > Alerts log) will display any alert that triggers across all windows and (if set under Tools > Options) workspaces.

You can also right-click the alert and directly go to the window that triggered it.

If you would like a convenient way to enable an alert on multiple instruments, please take a look at the Market Analyzer and its alert feature. Depending on the conditions of your alert, you might also be able to set it up therein (e.g. if it doesn't require complicated indicators).

Please don't hesitate to let me know, if I may be of further assistance!

              I see!!

With market analyzer, I can only use price in alerts?

              Thanks.

                Hello eduardopoletto

You can use any value the market analyzer displays in an alert.

I've recorded a brief example below on how to set up an alert that compares two indicators:

World's leading screen capture + recorder from Snagit + Screencast by Techsmith. Capture, edit and share professional-quality content seamlessly.

Don't hesitate to let me know, should you still have any further questions!

The alert remains in standby or it is completely deleted and will not reactivate if I reload the Data?

                      Hello eduardopoletto,

Thank you very much for your reply.

If you switch the instrument you have the option to transfer the existing alert.

Once switched away, however, the alert would not be retained for this instrument.

My suggestion would be to use different chart tabs for different instruments. That way you can leave the instrument's alert idle/inactive, and reuse it when you need it.

Please don't hesitate to let me know, should you have any further questions!
