Version 8.0.26.1 64-bit - Old?

I checked my "about" section and it said my version is 8.0.26.1 64-bit.

Isn't this a really old version?

Thank you for your post.

This version would be out of date.

To update to the latest version of NinjaTrader Desktop please follow the steps below.

• Login into the NinjaTrader Account Dashboard
• Click "Download" in the bottom left-hand corner of the sidebar
• Next, select "Download" in the "Most Recent Release" Window on the main screen
• You may then select version 8.0.0.28 under 'Prior Release
• Once the installation has been downloaded, ensure any previous version of NinjaTrader is closed before running the installation package.
  • Note: You may need to locate this in your "Downloads" folder in a Windows File Explorer

That version 8.0.26.1 is also incredibly stable.

For ex, it's the last version on the old Microsoft
database technology, before the switch to SQLite.

And, of course, no password dialog to mess with.

I'm still using it on my main trading machine. I'm
in no real rush to upgrade, I'm enjoying this release
immensely.

If you don't need specific fixes or features of
the newer releases -- no need to worry, you're
doing fine.

You can keep using it as long as you want.

Hi guys,

My current version is 8.0.28.0 64-bit and i have developed indicators which i have shared on https://nexusfi.com/. One of my indicator does not seem to behave as expected on the latest version 8.1.1.7 but is OK on my current version. I have not used any undocumented commands. So unless i decide to install v. 8.1.1.7, i won't be able to find the problem. If i decide to install version 8.1.1.7 will i be able to run it in parallel with version 8.0.28.0 64-bit ?

If i install 8.1 can i keep my old version ? I'd like to be able to switch between both, how should i proceed to do this ? Will the new version import my historical and market replay data during the installation ?

Yes, all your information will be imported to 8.1.

If you wish to go back to the previous 8.0 version please follow the steps below to migrate your version.

Please follow the steps below to migrate from the 8.1 platform back to the 8.0 platform:

• Make sure all versions of NinjaTrader are Closed
• Go to the Windows Control Center > Click “Add/Remove Programs” (Sometimes “Uninstall a program” > Click NinjaTrader > Click Uninstall
• Click Next through the prompts until it is finished uninstalling
• Click the link below to directly download the Installer for version 8.0.28.0
  • Click here to directly download the 8.0.28.0 updater/installer
• After downloading, click on the file and Open or Run it > Click Next through the prompts until it is Finished installing
  • From here you can reopen NinjaTrader and continue using the platform like before.

I don't understand, with version 8.0 i could just rename the Ninjatrader folder and do a fresh install of NT8.0 if needed and then could revert back to my previous version by renaming the folder again to its original name. So if i understand i can not do this with version 8.0 and 8.1 ?

To clarify changing the documents folder doesn't change the version that is installed.

If you rename the documents folder before installing the newest version your settings will not be imported over and a new documents folder will be created.

You would still need to uninstall version 8.1 and reinstall version 8.0 to downgrade to the previous version.

Renaming the documents folder works the same for both versions.

I'm a bit confused. Can you please give instructions on how to downgrade from version 8.1 to version 8.0.26.1 64-bit.

Could you also provide a link to 8.0.26.1 64-bit. I am not finding it.

Do you by chance still have the 8.0.26.1 installer? I will be doing a video about a rendering issue with indicators on 8.0.28 vs 8.0.26.1. This particular bug started with 8.0.27 but I need 8.0.26.1 to prove it.
