Hi everyone,

I'm new to Ninjatrader and trying to learn the ropes through paper trading. Anyhow, I'm trying to configure Ninjatrader to give a sound alert whenever a chart drawing gets touched by the graph of the chart, but to no avail. I watched youtube and read the Ninjatrader manual, but I still don't get how to configure this. I don't have a technical background and the manual isn't big on clarifying the options in the menu, so I'm clueless on how to configure this. Can someone explain it to me in boomer friendly terms?

Thanks for your post.

First, you would need to draw the object on the chart by using the Drawing Tools button on the Chart toolbar.

After drawing the object on the chart, you could create an alert in the Alerts window by right-clicking on the chart and selecting 'Alerts...'.

In the Alerts window, click 'add' in the Conditions section of the Alert window, create a condition that checks if the Close price of the instrument is equal to the Drawing Tool object. See the attached screenshot showing what this might look like.

Then, in the 'Actions' section, click 'add' to create an action. Select the 'Play a sound' option from the Actions window, set the sound you want to play, and click OK.

If you would like to have the alert rearm when the condition is reversed, you could set the 'Rearm type' drop-down menu to 'On condition reversed'.
