    Connection to Continuum (live) (Login Failed) message on one machine

    Hi,
    I use a couple of desktops (not simultaneously) - On one desktop when trying to access Ninja Trader Continuum data I get the message

    "Network Connection Continuum (Live) Network connection to Order Routing System unavailable (Login Failed)"
    while on the other machine it works fine.

    Network connection on both machines appears to be working ok in all other respects.


    Can you please tell me how to resolve this issue.

    Hello Suraj,

    Thank you for your inquiry and for using NinjaTrader.

    While this error can be indicative of local area network issues with reaching the provider's servers from your PC, we most often see this with outdated versions of the platform. On the PC that is experiencing the error, can you please go to Help > About within NinjaTrader and tell me what the version number is? I will need the full version number (for example: 8.0.x.x or 8.1.x.x).

      Hi Zachary,

      Thanks for checking this for me. The version on this machine is 8.0.27.1 64-bit.

      Please let me know if I need to update and how to go about it.

        Thank you for your response.

        Yes, version 8.0.27.1 is no longer able to connect to the underlying servers and you will need to update. If you'd prefer to run a similar experience to 8.0.27.1, we do have 8.0.28.0 available on our website under the 'prior releases' section. This will be the most similar to the version you currently have, but will allow you to connect. To update to this version of NinjaTrader Desktop please follow the steps below.
        • Login into the NinjaTrader Account Dashboard
        • Click "Download" in the bottom left-hand corner of the sidebar
        • Locate the 'Prior Releases' section
        • Select the 'Download' button next to 8.0.28.0
        • Once the installation had downloaded, ensure any previous version of NinjaTrader is closed before running the installation package.
          • Note: You may need to locate this in your "Downloads" folder in a Windows File Explorer

          Hi Zachary,

          Thanks will update to 8.0.28.0 that is the version I am running on other machines.
          I have been seeing seeing some posts from others on the newer version of NT8 having to login every time and being unable to run locally if internet is unavailable - hopefully updating to 8.0.28.0 on this machine will not put my account into the category required to login every time? Please let me know.

            Hello Suraj,

            Thank you for your response.

            The enhanced login experience is currently only a part of version 8.1. 8.0.28.0 will be very much the same experience as what you are used to with 8.0.27.1.
