strategy running strange behaviour

Hello,


I have been running multiple strategies at ninjatrader control center for single insturment- MNQ-DEC 23.

I observed a very strange thing since yesterday night.

I have native ninjatrader direct personal cash account.


All my strategies in control center were enabled and no error logs were generated. But after 6 hours straight running, I was surprised that, many times order entries were not executed!

That was really strange! I should have got error message, that didn't happen.


So, how would I know that strategies are not working fine, when there is no log data error seen and all things look fine, But behind the scenes there are some issues!


This is important and I need your guidance.


Also, 2nd question: is there any limitation in ninjatrader control center- that we can't run more 10 or 20 strategies at the same time? is there any counting limit?

Also, have u guys heard that, when we run many strategies at the same time, some random errors occur?

To clarify were these strategies developed by you or purchased from a 3rd party vendor?

If purchased from a 3rd party vendor we recommend first reaching out to the developer as they will be the expert on their strategies.

  • No, there is no limit in NinjaTrader to how many strategies may be enabled at the same time. That said, as my colleague mentioned, there are some implications when running multiple strategies on the same account and instrument. I highly suggest reviewing the link he shared if you have not already.

  • No, I have not heard of random errors occurring from running multiple strategies at the same time. You had mentioned there were no error messages. Do you have any errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do the errors report?

Ultimately, if you have a strategy and it is not placing orders when expected, you can add debugging prints to better understand its behavior. You could also enable TraceOrders in State.SetDefaults to get helpful information about orders when they are submitted, changed, canceled, rejected, or ignored.
