Lost Workspace configuration, restore does not work as there is no backup

New lifetime user, I started using Ninjatrader since July. Today I opted to upgrade the future contracts to Dec expiry. After that, somehow the Ninjatrader desktop started with the default screen and my workspace was not there. Interestingly, I believe the app may have got killed earlier due to any error. So I am not sure what is the root cause behind losing the workspace configurations.

Then I tried to restore (via database management), but no backup whatsoever!!

    Questions:
1/ How do I manually take the backup of my workspace. So I can verify that the backup is there under backup directory.
2/ Sometimes the workspace is there is the menu, but when I click on it, there are no windows! Is there a setting to prevent Ninjatrader from asking me to save workspace settings? It's because sometimes I close the workspace windows, then close main window. It asks me to save workspace settings. If I say yes, my prior workspace is overwritten. Very frustrating :-( Alternatively, is there a way for me to restore a previously saved version of workspace.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hello bg2411,

Thank you very much for your post.

To track down what occurred, please send us your log & trace files.

You can do this by going to the Control Center -> Help -> Email Support

Please select "Platform Technical Support" as the recipient and enter a brief message referring to this post.

Regarding the workspace; NinjaTrader automatically saves backups of each workspace. To access the last ten versions, please follow the steps below:
    1. Navigate to Tools -> Database Management
    2. Select "Restore workspace"
    3. Select Restore to be directed to the location of the recovery workspaces
    4. Workspaces will be organized in folders with the same name as the workspace
    5. Double-click the folder of the workspace you want to recover and then select the recovery file with the date/time that you want to recover. You'll want to select a file larger than 1kb from the available options.
Below I have provided a link to the Restore Workspaces section of our help guide:If you would like to confirm whether a backup contains the files it should, please open it with a compression tool, such as WinZip or 7ZIP, as NinjaTrader backup files are renamed ZIP files.

I look forward to your reply!
