    New NT 8 Installation

    Hi, I needed to uninstall NT completely. We have 2 Multi-Broker licenses.

    After installation, I am forced to either fund an account OR do a Demo. By opening the DEMO Account - there is no entry field to add additional Connections like Kinetick, IB.

    What kind of idea is behind annoying long-lasting customers by such an awkward way to install Ninjatrader.

    My question:

    How can I enter my KINeTICK data feed to continue with a fresh NT8 installation?

    Hello Trader108,

    Thank you for the message.

    You just need to click the Simulation option to get the platform to open, and then enable "Multi-provider mode" and it will reveal the configure button like you are used to.
    From here, you are ready to set up the connections and continue using the platform as before:
    Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

      After logging into the new client portal at the NinjaTrader.com website,
      I recommend you download the prior release '8.0.28.0' -- which is an
      officially supported release -- and try very hard to stay away from the
      newer 8.1.x.x releases.

      Anything 8.1.x.x will probably make you angry, since these new releases
      require you enter your new client portal username & password every time
      you start the program -- yep, the password entry dialog is mandatory and
      there is no way to bypass typing your password every time the program
      starts.

      The prior release 8.0.28.0 is the version you're probably most familiar
      with since it still uses a license key -- the newer 8.1.x.x releases have
      completely moved away from the license key concept, in fact, NT no
      longer even sells license keys -- 8.1.x.x uses a subscription based
      model.

      Stick with 8.0.28.0 as long as you can, your sanity will thank you.

      EDIT: Adding your Kinetick credentials in 8.0.28.0 is the traditional
      no-nonsense legacy experience you're looking for.

        Thank you! Yes, I have installed 8.0.28.00. The handling of 8.1 is simply annoying. I wouldn't mind the login screen. But I mind entering the PW and the already reported request to make the LOGIN process seamless.
        No response from NT so far.

          Can a feature request be made about that? Namely, optional login at the start for customers needing it. I Trade with IB and won't ever need it.

          Can a feature request be made about keeping the 8.0.xx model available to all customers who purchased a license before 8.1.xx was introduced? Because clearly we did not purchase the license to get that kind of service down the road.
          The same way 2014 and before customers can still use AMP Futures with NT.

            Hello Cormick,

            Thank you for your post.

            I have added a vote to the Feature Request for a 'Remember Me' option on the log in screen.

            The tracking number for this is SFT-5780.

                While we're all waiting for the Remember Me feature, you can use RoboForm to autofill the credentials and then you only need to hit return or click the Login button. Still some hassle, but not nearly as bad filling in the password.

                  Have you got RoboForm to work?

                  The 'NinjaTrader Desktop' program is not a website.

                  Just sayin, because like most password managers, it
                  appear to be focused on websites, not legacy Windows
                  desktop programs.

I am able to locate the db under the ninja trader file but it says thats that the folder is empty, im would like to be able to start ninja trader and have it run asap. Also once I get it started how do I connect to my CBOT_DOM market data that i bought from you guys. Because im having trouble on my desktop.

                      bltdavid, yes. There is a desktop version of RoboForm that works on your Windows desktop and resides in your system tray.

                      When your NT 8 Logon window pops up, you'll see a small status bar at the bottom of the window from RoboForm asking if you want to save the credentials.

                      Click image for larger version

                      Click save and the next time you log in, RoboForm will fill in the credentials once you click in the Password box.
                      This does require a few configuration items, but RoboForms documentation was pretty easy to follow.

                      RoboForm is one of the few password managers that hasn't abandoned the desktop. I spent a few hours yesterday downloading and testing multiple password managers before finding that RoboForm would do the job.

                          I've continued to automate my solution. By using AutoHotKey there is a 100% automatic workaround. This still adds a good 15 - 20 seconds every time I have to log in to Ninja Desktop, but I'm hands-free.

                          Here is the AHK script. Once you get it running it will keep running in the background. AHK does let you pause it if you wish. You will need to besure to launch AHK and this script when you log into Windows.

                          Persistent ; Keeps the script running
                          SetTitleMatchMode(2) ; Allows for partial matching of window titles

                          Loop
                          {
                          ; Wait for the "Welcome" window from Ninjatrader.exe to appear
                          WinWait("Welcome ahk_exe Ninjatrader.exe")

                          ; Activate the window to ensure we're sending input to the right place
                          WinActivate()

                          ; Click in the Password textbox (you might need to adjust the X, Y coordinates)
                          ; Assuming the Password textbox is at coordinates (100, 200) for this example
                          MouseClick("left", 300, 205)

                          ; Wait for 0.25 seconds
                          Sleep(250) ; Sleep is in milliseconds

                          ; Hit the Enter key
                          Send("{Enter}")

                          ; Wait a bit before checking again to avoid rapid looping
                          Sleep(5000)
                          }

                          ^+q::ExitApp ; Ctrl(^) + Shift(+) + Q(q) to exit the script
                          If you're curious AHK is very lean on resources. On my system, it uses just 0.6 MB and rarely gets noticed by the CPU utilization.

                              Hi daqu40, is possible to pass the PW along with the script? If yes, how? Thanks for helping out.
