    Unable To Subscribe To Market Data.

    Hi there,

    I have a free Ninja Trader account, and I'm trying to subscribe to market data, but the subscribe button is greyed out.

    Here's a screenshot:

    Can someone please explain how to fix this?

    Thank you for the message.

    You would need to apply for and be accepted for a NinjaTrader Brokerage account to be able to sign up for real-time data after the initial 14 day trial.
    • Then, once that has been approved, you can sign up for real-time data

    So, you would need to apply for a NinjaTrader Brokerage account and wait for it to be completed then you could sign up for real-time data.

    Otherwise, you could look into getting data from a Market Data Provider only so you don't have to worry about opening an account:

      Hi Clayton, thanks so much for your response.

      When you refer to applying for a NinjaTrader brokerage account, are you referring to the NinjaTrader account plans? (Monthly, Lifetime)

      Also, just to confirm, are Market Data Providers companies like "Kinetick, Rithmic, etc." ?

      Right now I'm trying to save money, and my ultimate goal would be to have live market data for ES or NQ futures for forwards-testing my strategies before I purchase a lifetime plan.

      However, I'm starting to think it would probably be more cost-efficient to purchase a lifetime plan for NinjaTrader to allow me to subscribe to market data.

      If there's a cheaper option for now to be able to subscribe to monthly market data with a free account, that would be ideal.

      What would you recommend?

        Thank you for the update.

        The Account Plan has no impact on your ability to subscribe to market data or not. This dictates the commission rates on the account and possibly comes with additional platform features.

        You have to apply for a Live NinjaTrader Brokerage account and wait for that to be accepted.
        • Sign into the NinjaTrader Client Dashboard
        • If you don't see the "Start Application" button at the top of the page > Go to the top-right corner and click the blue person icon > Click Settings > Switch to the Account View > Click to "Start Application"
        • Once it is approved, you will be able to sign up for real-time data through NinjaTrader Brokerage

        Otherwise, you could go with one of the data provider-only options. You would have to reach out to them directly for more information on their pricing.

          Thank you for your comprehensive reply.

          I recently attempted to apply for a Ninjatrader brokerage account but observed that South Africa is not included in the list of countries. I found it odd, especially given that neighboring African countries such as Swaziland, Lesotho, and Central West Africa are mentioned.

          Interestingly, my close friend - who lives in South Africa like myself - successfully subscribed to Ninjatrader's live data for $4 a month. I'm guessing it might be due to his purchase of a lifetime plan.

          Could it be that acquiring a lifetime plan grants one the privilege to access market data, irrespective of their country's inclusion in the Ninjatrader brokerage application, due to the license key acquisition?

          I apologize for all the questions. I'd just like to clarify these points before considering a purchase.

            Hello RoswellTrader,

            Thank you for your response.

            Unfortunately, Account Memberships (Free, Monthly, and Lifetime) do not include Market Data as that is a separate subscription for access to live data on each exchange. To be able to view and trade live Futures data on your platform, you would need to open an account with a Futures broker that is supported on NinjaTrader in your country.

            Unfortunately, we do not have a list of Futures brokers that are supported in South Africa, however, if you do find any, you are welcome to email us at [email protected] to confirm if they wil work on the NinjaTrader platform and what is required for them to be connected.
