NT8 Not Properly Reading Rithmic Market Data

    NT8 Not Properly Reading Rithmic Market Data

    Hello,

    I need support to solve the following problem.

    I just found the NT8 it's not properly reading market data from Rithmic for one particular instrument I'll need to trade:

    CME "BZ" instrument (Brent Crude Oil)

    When you put the instrument code BZF4 related the nov-23 contract, only the chart is loaded but no market data is received.

    See attachaded picture related the problem.

    Could you please fix this problem for this BZ CME instrument?

    Just to let it clear, I'm using the last version of NT8 8.1.1.7 and symbology style set in "exchange" but I already tried the other 2 options like "Numeric" and "Month Abbreviation" but still not working.

    Hello Renato,

    Thank you very much for your post.

    The "BZF4" designation would not be recognized as such in NinjaTrader Desktop as the platform expects the expiration as an addition to the instrument.

    Do you also experience this issue if you search for the BZ instrument and either double-click or manually enter the expiration?

    By double-clicking the search result, it would automatically be added with the current expiration. It should then cause no further issues.

      Thanks for supporting.

      I tried also as you said with double click and still not working.

      I tried also other codes like BZX3 and numeric BZ 11-23 but no way to receive the market data for this particular instrument.

      Looks like the NT platform has some mismatch in reading this particular instrument with Rithmic market data.

        I was not yet able to reproduce any issues in this regard. Is it possible the instrument list might have been modified? This would explain why a single instrument is causing issues.

        To reset this, please click on Tools > Database Management > Update Instruments, mark all checkboxes, and click on "Update".

        If this does not resolve the issue, please send me your log & trace files, I can then further investigate why the platform is unable to request data for this instrument.

        You can do this by going to the Control Center -> Help -> Email Support

        Please select "Platform Technical Support" as the recipient and enter a brief "ATTN Manfred" note in the message.

          I have made the procedure of update instruments but still have the same problem.

          I'm not sure if I made myselft clear.

          The problem it's not my platform in specific, but it's ninjatrader do not read right codes from Rithmic market data.

          With CQG there is no such problem.

          The only problem is with Rithmic data feed because they have different codes for some instruments, in this regard, BZ.

          See attached file I made with the difference between regular codes and Rithmic codes for this particular instrument.

          NT8 should consider this difference while reading market data from Rithmic.

            For instance:

            If you put "BZ 11-23" in the chart with Rithmic market data, it will bring the BZX3 chart, that refers to the expired september contract.

            Probably that's why looks like there is no market data for the instrument, because it's always bring 2 month expired contract.

            As far I understand, that's the problem.

              Hello Manfred,

              I need support to solve this problem.

              I'm talking to a person from customer client service called Zachary S. but He/She keep saying the problem is my access to market data but I already showed that it's not the case.

              Attached print screen of a single trade in BZ instrument in R Trader that confirms that the problem it's no my access to this particular instrument.

              It's clear to me that NT8 platform has some issues in process market data in some instruments.

              I appreciate if you could escalate the problem to it be solved.

                Are you sure your Rithmic prop firm allows you to trade BZ? For example, with Apex, they don't allow BZ, you can see their list of all futures they support on their homepage.

                  Sure they allow.

                  Above also I showed one print screen of one order placed in R Trader.

                  If wasn't allowed I won't be able to place any order via R Trader (as happen if you try to do it with one Apex account, R Trader block you to place the order)
