SuperDOM features lost from NT7 to NT8

The image shows the NT7 and NT8 SuperDOMs - side by side.

The NT7 DOM is the Static type I was using as I had chosen not to use Dynamic. In the case of the NT8 DOM, I only have Dynamic available to me right now.

Is that usual? How do I get Static?

The next anomaly I see is that I can shrink the Grid on NT7 to fit in a lot more rows, but I cannot on NT8. I have (successsfully) tried different Font SIzes, but Grid size seems unaffected.

    Can this be adjusted/corrected?

And finally, the NT8 version loses the ATM Strategy parameters, making it largely useless for quick decision making/trade entry.

How do I get this back?

    Thank you

    Hello Griesha_uk ,

Thank you for your forum post.

Static SuperDOM is available to users that trade with a NinjaTrader Brokerage account; if this is your case please contact us at support@ninjatrader[dot]com to have this enabled.

You can extend the number of rows available by enlarging the actual window itself.

Last, ATM Strategy parameters are available if you hover over your existing ATM strategy 'Basic ES - 16' and click on 'edit'.

Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with.

      Thank you Luis.

I have requested Static SuperDOM from Support. As for the other issues......

Ok, to me, having to go through an Edit process to change a simple Stop value represents a Long-Cut (i.e. I've lost the Short-Cut). I do understand how to do this, just a little disappointed.

As for the "static Grid cell size". The reason I mentioned this is because I have a fixed screen height on the monitor I use (the same one I have been using on NT7). I am aware that I can drag the NT8 DOM window to make it bigger, but when I hit the limit of my monitor height, I run out of options. In the side-by-side comparison I posted, both are top to bottom on the same monitor. You will note that I have significantly more rows displayed on the NT7 DOM. This is so important right now as prices can move right thru this limited NT8 range in a couple seconds in an active market.

Are you certain there are no other options to fix this?

        Griesha_uk .

Thank you for reaching out to them for that!

Unfortunately this is just limited to the size of your SuperDOM window. In NinjaTrader 7 it was done through "number of price rows". The following might be an unconventional solution but if you're willing to go through this it might be useful.

You could have a dedicated monitor positioned vertically to further expand your SuperDOM - since this is limited by your height, expanding this would allow the SuperDOM to see more rows.

So, first you find out Static DOM has been removed surreptitiously despite hollow words from NinjaTrader_Ray about continuing to support legacy clients (I have a legacy grandfathered lifetime licence from which I have lost static Dom functionality).
Second the solution to the retrograde DOM revamp in 8 is to buy an extra monitor and turn it on its side.

Or, NT could not have messed up the DOM in 8 in the first place, and having done so, fix it

            brucerobinson ,

            Thanks for following up.

I assume you've already gotten in contact with our support team. I can take a closer look at what was discussed if you write in again with 'ATTN LUIS' on the subject line and I can pull previous communication with the email address you write in with.

            Thank you in advance.

              Hi,

How much longer will lifetime users be able to use Ninjatrader with other brokers besides Ninjatrader?

Also, will Ninjatrader be stripping away other features that were part of the lifetime purchase/license? Any advance notice would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

              Keep up the great work!

              Thanks

I tested this one and it looks good but basic: https://www.theintentionaltrader.com/mrdd-eas/... Supposedly the next version will have more features. I have even been able to use it trade my Apex account with the newer NT versions. And no per trade fees
