    Ending OneDrive Hegemony ?

It is possible to disentangle OneDrive from NT 8 by uninstalling Windows 11, then doing a clean install of it, then uninstalling OneDrive, then installing NT 8?

I posted this originally in "Strategy Development". Who moved this to "Platform Technical Support", and why? Seems those who are most affected by OneDrive are the strat dev folks.

      Hello spottysallrite,

The NinjaScript team moved this to "Platform Technical Support" as your first post does not handle automated strategies specifically.

As far as I know, you don't have to uninstall Windows 11. You can uninstall OneDrive from 'Add or remove programs' in Windows. If you can't uninstall it, I suggest to disable it. You can find instructions at the publicly available link below.

If these instructions don't work for you, I suggest to contact Microsoft for assistance.

Does Ninjatrader Platform Support think Microsoft GAF about your software? How about the "crack" engineering staff at Ninjatrader understand that modern operating systems have built in ways to copy to the cloud and come up with a solution so that both can co-exist in harmony... "Contact Microsoft" sounds a lot like "this is a 3rd party vendor issue" so that Ninjatrader can move on and close another support issue without actually doing anything...

Sure, you can disable one drive... But do you know that having one drive in the path of the installation exposes the documents folder to all kinds of other obnoxious things? Most likely not...

If only Ninjatrader was tone deaf... This is just malicious at this point...

Jason, you missed my point. What I was getting at was if it's possible to keep NT from loading into the OneDrive folder (thus avoiding the many conflicts and problems caused by the incompatibility between NT and OneDrive). So, I was asking if OneDrive was uninstalled before installing NT if that would keep NT from being installed into the OneDrive folder. Or, is putting NT into the OneDrive folder hard-coded into the NT install code?

NinjaTrader Desktop installs files (settings and data) in the Documents-->NinjaTrader 8 folder. If the Documents folder resides in OneDrive, the Documents-->NinjaTrader 8 folder will be installed in OneDrive. If OneDrive is uninstalled (Documents folder does not reside in OneDrive), then the Documents-->NinjaTrader 8 folder does not reside in OneDrive.
