Strategy running without interruption

Options/strategies/Handling=keep running||disconnect delay seconds-9000000|| Number of Restart attempt=100||Restarts within x minutes=2.

if i do above setting for strategy in options.

what that means?

this is my understanding, please verify I am correct, and if I am wrong, then kindly explain me with example.

My understanding:
Lets say connection is lost

In this case, NT8 will continue attempting to reconnect and re-enable strategy, as long as Disconnect delay is under= 90000000 seconds.

It will do NT8 connection restart attempts , total 100 times

And it will do this restart attempts every 2 minutes, until connection is back on.

Explanation given at ninjatrader guide is very vague and lacks example. which creates confusion. Please explain me this in very simple english with example.

So, I can use this setting accurately.

Using high values like you have will effectively prevent the disconnection handling from working so the strategy would stay enabled. Those settings can still be overridden by the platform in case of a full disconnect, that will terminate the connection and you will need to manually reconnect and re enable strategies. For any minor disconnect the strategy would remain enabled but may be missing data and may not have an accurate view of the market if the disconnect is long enough.

The properties you are editing are described very specifically in the help guide and that also lists how those work. Using a high value like 90000000 effectively disables the reconnect logic so those settings would be irrelevant. 90000000 seconds is 1041 Days.

Disconnect delay seconds: Sets the number of seconds a disconnection must persist before it is recognized by the Disconnect Handling logic

Number of restart attempts
Sets the number of times NinjaTrader will attempt to restart a strategy within the "Restarts within x minutes" time span. The strategy will only restart on a reestablished connection when there have been fewer restart attempts than "Number of restart attempts" within the last "Restarts within x minutes" time span. Otherwise the strategy will simply halt, and no further restart attempts will be made.

Restarts within x minutes

Sets the number of minutes for the "Restarts within x minutes" time span used by "Number of restart attempts".

I wouldn't be able to comment anything additional on these properties, they are used just as described in the above descriptions.

No, you are using a high value which will disable that logic. 90000000 seconds is 1041 Days, you would have to be disconnected for 1041 days before a reconnect attempt was tried. That setting is not a reasonable amount of time so you are effectively disabling that logic.

Oh!! i understood very clearly now. Thank god for helping me out here. It would have impacted my strat running immensely. Appreciate that.

So, now if I am keeping
Disconnect delay is under= 5 seconds.

And if Keep, restart attempt=1000
and Restart attempt every x minutes= 1 minute

So, that tells me that- now Ninja will try to attempt restart up to 1000 times, on every single 1 minute as long as disconnection delay is within 5 seconds.

Is this right understanding right now?

U have helped me so much, so just this is final question to put this issue to closure.
