NQ - too much time to load charts

    NQ - too much time to load charts

    Hello,

    I use some indicators on my charts. Charts are loaded quickly when using ES, CL & GC.
    But when I use NQ, it takes too much time to be loaded.

    I've tried "Repair Database" and "Reset Database". Still taking too much time to load NQ charts.

    Any clue to fix this problem?

    Thank you for posting.

    Please use the steps I have provided below to delete and reload your historical data:
    • Close NinjaTrader
    • Documents
    • NinjaTrader 8
    • Open the db folder
    • Delete the cache, day, minute and tick folders
    • Restart NinjaTrader
    This initial load may take a little longer than normal since all new data is being loaded from the historical data servers. After everything has loaded please restart NinjaTrader and let me know if you continue to experience a slow load time.

      The problem is just with NQ.

        do you use a footprint or other indicators calculated on tick? That could explain why the NQ feels like it takes a lot longer to load than the ES, for example.

          This may be due the amount of data you are loading within your chart. To reduce the amount of data right click in your chart->Data Series->Decrease the value for "Days to load" to the minimum required then click Ok.

            Hello Christopher!

            I've got 2 desktops: Desktop1 and Desktop2

            This issue happens on Desktop2, that is more powerful than Desktop1.

            On Desktop1, same charts (NQ) are loaded faster than on Desktop2.
            Same charts, same indicators, and Desktop1 is loading NQ charts faster than Desktop2.

            I've reduced "days to load" according to your last instruction.

            But it didn't work!

              Can you set exclusions for the following folders in your security software then restart NinjaTrader.
              • C:->Program Files->NinjaTrader 8 folder
              • Documents->NinjaTrader 8 folder

                        Kaspersky is not the problem!

                        Kaspersky is installed on both desktops.

                          Also, do you see the same behavior while running NinjaTrader in Safe Mode with the steps below:

                          Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
                          • Loading workspaces and connecting on start-up.
                          • Loading custom assemblies (i.e. 3rd-party add-ons and NinjaScripts)
                          • Getting instrument updates from the server
                          To enable Safe Mode, please use the following steps:
                          • Shut down NinjaTrader.
                          • Go to the Windows Start Button
                          • Search for NinjaTrader (Safe Mode)
                          • Launch NinjaTrader (Safe Mode)
                          Once you have opened the platform in Safe Mode:
                          • Reconnect to your Data Provider
                          • Next open a new NQ 09-23 chart with no custom bar types/indicators/templates and and let me know if you see the same behavior.​​
