    Multi-Time Frame Drawings Synced

    Hi,

I want to have 4 charts for 1 instrument with different time frames. For example, 1 tab for 60min, 30min, 15min, 5min in 4 equal quadrants.

If I have drawings applied on a timeframe, I want it automatically duplicated across all time frames, below it only (e.g., if on 30 min, apply to the 3 charts below)

However, if I have a drawing on the smaller time frame (15min), I only want it applied downwards (15 min and 5 min only) and not upwards (not on 30 or 60min)

I couldn't find the instructions for this anywhere. Could you please provide step by step guidance? I believe ThinkOrSwim has this functionality and is widely used.

    Hello DT215,

    Thanks for your post.

To clarify, are you manually drawing objects on the chart window?

If you would like a manually drawn object to appear on all charts or chart panels that are set to the same instrument, NinjaTrader has an option that allows you to attach the drawing object on all charts of the same instrument.

To accomplish this, you would right-click on the drawing object on the chart, select 'Properties', and set the 'Attach to' property field to <instrument> (All charts), for example, ES 09-23 (All charts).

See the 'Understanding Local vs Global Drawing Objects' section of this help guide page for more information:

Please note that NinjaTrader does not have the option to only duplicate drawing objects only on smaller timeframe charts / chart panels of the same instrument.

If you would like me to submit a feature request to the Development team on your behalf for the ability to only draw objects globally only on smaller timeframe charts, please let me know and I will be happy to forward the feature request to the Development team for you.

Could you please submit a request for this feature to get developed. Feel like this is the basic feature available in other platforms.

Did you already try syncing the carts?
Top right corner you have two sync options... Two grey boxes one is interval link, the other is instrument link. Click and select the color and make all your time frame charts the same color. See if that will sync the drawings.

Then save those settings as the Default template for that drawing object.

And then, make sure that "Show global draw objects" is enabled in the Data Series window.
