    Chart Trader staying off and causing "unhandled exception" warning

    Using 8.1.1.7.

    With more than one chart tab open and with Chart Trader open on all tabs.

    If I then select "Chart Trader Off" from the icon at top of chart then Chart Trader closes on ALL tabs.

    Also the "Chart Trader On" and "Hide" options become inactive, greyed out.


    If I then click on one of the other chart tabs I get this "unhandled exception" warning.

    I have to close and re open NT8 platform to get the chart trader back to open on the charts on all tabs.

    Help appreciated. (who do I send my log and trace files to )

    So I may look into this further please go to Help->Email Support and be sure to include Attn: Chris Jameson in the Subject line, a link to this thread in the body and a check in the box for "Log and trace files".

      I closed the particular Chart window and rebuilt it with chart tabs and the issue isn't happening now.
      Presumably something got corrupted and has now cleared.

        Unfortunately the issue has happened again,

        When selecting Chart Trader to Off on one tab it closes Chart Trader on all tabs for that particular Chart Window, the Chart Trader, Chart Trader Off and Hide becomes inactive and if I click on one of the other tabs it brings up the unhandled exception warning. I have to close NT8 down or close the chart window and rebuild it.

        I've emailed you log and trace per your post number 2.

        If you could acknowledge receipt I'd be grateful.

          Sorry to note I've not heard back from NT support having emailed my log and trace files on Thursday.

          In the meantime again the issue happened just now.

          This time prior to the unhandled exception warning the Chart Trader was on but going to turn it off the icon was greyed out.
          I turned Chart Trader off via right click > properties.

          This caused chart trader on all tabs to be turned off and threw up the unhandled warning as before when turning off chart trader via the tool bar icon when it wasn't greyed out.

          I very much hope NT support will get back to me asap. Each time this happens I have to shut down NT and rebuild the chart window and tabs.

            I am not sure if you received my reply on 8/10 however when reviewing your file I seen the following two errors:
            • 2023-08-10 07:51:23:822 ERROR: Indicator 'FootPrintV2MyVersion': Error on calling 'OnRenderTargetChanged' method: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
            • 2023-08-10 11:29:45:507 *************** unhandled exception trapped ***************
            • 2023-08-10 11:29:45:507 Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
            • 2023-08-10 11:29:45:516 System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
            • at NinjaTrader.NinjaScript.Indicators.Gemify.OrderLin eDecorator.ComputeValues()

            Please remove the two indicators referenced in the errors from your chart(s) then restart and let me know if you see the same behavior.

                The Footprint indicator wasn't loaded on any charts today yet the issue happened again. So I guess that rules that one out.

                As for gemify Order Line decorator. I've been running this since it was posted some weeks ago and up to date with version 1.22 and not had the problem until recently.

                The only other thing I've done recently is upgrade to 8.1.1.7

                There's still the issue with Chart Trader sometimes greying out and needed to click on Data Series icon which sometimes invokes the Chart Trader no longer being greyed out but of coarse that's nothing to do with indicators but a known outstanding issue with NT8.

                Anyway.....

                I will try without the Order Line indicator and I'll post in gemify thread and ask if any one else has had the issue.
