NinjaTrader automatic backup doesn't work, even if I say "yes" to make a backup

Not sure what could be causing this.
    • My NinjaTrader documents folder is in the default location on my system drive.
    • I have my NinjaTrader options set to automatically make a backup every week.
    • When I close down NinjaTrader at the end of the week, it asks me if I want to make a backup. I say yes, I do.
Manual backups work just fine. It's the automatic ones I'm having an issue with.

No error message. No confirmation prompt. Nothing out of the ordinary. The NinjaTrader application just closes, as expected, but there's no backup file made in my C:\Users\*MyWindowsUsername*\Documents\NinjaTrader Backup\ folder.

This has been broken for me as well for literally years. You click “yes” to backup and Ninjatrader just quits.

If it helps NinjaTrader staff with troubleshooting, I have already tried uninstalling NinjaTrader and even made sure to delete entries in the registry. C'mon guys, it's a $1,000+ program...

Any response from NinjaTrader staff? It's been three weeks; bump.

          Hello StoxFox,

Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.

We'd be happy to look further into this - I've attempted to recreate the same behavior and cannot replicate it. The only reason why I think this would not save as intended is if the folder was deleted or changed.

You mentioned in your post this directory: C:\Users\*MyWindowsUsername*\Documents\NinjaTrader Backup\ ; the folder should be named: C:\Users\*MyWindowsUsername*\Documents\NinjaTrader 8 Backup\

Could you please ensure that your folder is named correctly and attempt to replicate this?

          Thank you in advance.

This change seems to have fixed the issue. Strange that the folder was named NinjaTrader Backup instead of NinjaTrader 8 Backup, as this was a clean install. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that I imported a backup to restore my settings and layout? I never used NinjaTrader 7, so I'm not sure when the naming of the folder might have been changed.

kevinenergy, you might want to try this out and see if it fixes the issue.

            Thank you Luis!
