New User Questions - Limit Orders

Hello, I hope I am posting these questions in the correct board. Looked through search but did not find the answers, Hopefully, I can get them answered here!

    My question are:

    1. When I place a buy/sale limit order with right click on the mouse the order entry places the blue Limit order bar on chart at specified price. However, when I place a Limit Order through Hot Keys the order gets filled right away. I do have the ticks away setting to +/- 40. How can I make the hot key behave as the Right Click Mouse sequence?

    2. Is there away to have a Buy and Sale limit orders on the chart at the same time? For instance if you like to buy at bottom of the range and sell at top?

    3. Setting slippage to zero for SLM orders via Hotkeys, however, when the order bar appears on chart and when I click on the end of the tab the Slippage setting has changed to 5 and its not zero. Not sure if I am understand the slippage settings in hotkeys correctly and how they are implemented.

    Thank you

    Hello GKR-1,

    1. This indicates you submit a buy limit order above the current market price or a sell limit order below the current market price. It is as expected that the limit order fills right away in such a situation as it is a better price.

Please submit a buy limit order below the current market price (use Minus and not Plus for the Custom Order) and submit a sell limit order above the current market price (use Plus and not Minus)

    2. Yes, you can have both a sell and buy limit order active in ChartTrader. However there is no option to submit both orders at the same time.

    3. I assume you refer to the 'Limit offset' field. The offset represents the number of ticks away you wish the limit price of the stop-limit order to be placed at.

For example, I submit a buy stop limit order at 4596.00 (ES futures) with a value of 4 for the offset. When the stop limit order is triggered, it will submit the limit order at 4597.00 (4 ticks higher).

I'm not quite sure what is referred with "when I click on the end of the tab the Slippage setting has changed to 5 and its not zero". Could you please clarify or send me a screenshot that shows this.

In the Control Center-->Orders-tab, do you see the same price in the Limit and Stop column for this order?

Thank you for clearing up my questions.

Is there a way to have both buy and sale orders at differnt prices pending at same time in any other way? Currently getting a message as to only "You can not enter an Exit order strategy until Entry has been filled"

Can you please re-select the ATM strategy in the entry order window (ChartTrader, SuperDOM, etc) after you submit the first entry order. Once you submit the 1st entry order, the ATM strategy shows a lightning icon. Please re-select the ATM strategy, so it does not show the lightning icon anymore. Then submit the 2nd entry order.

You could also right click in the order entry window and select 'Properties'. Set 'ATM strategy selection mode' to 'Keep selected ATM strategy template on order submission'. That way the ATM strategy does not change to the lightning icon after you submit the 1st entry order. More information and a video on the ATM strategy selection mode can be found at the link below.
