VisualStudio integration with Ninjatrader

I am in the ninjatrader editor and pushed the visual studio icon.
I expect that the visualstudio will open and Automatically attach to the Ninjatrader.exe process, which does not happen. I need manually to go to debug and attached it.
Should i have such an expectation ?

Also, maybe people can advise.
Is it possible to keep the same breakpoints and also watch list of values for some particular strategy I am working on , such that every time I open the VS for that strategy it will bring them up again ?

Thanks for your post.

You must manually attach the process to Visual Studio by selecting Debug, then selecting Attach to Process as noted in the Visual Studio Debugging help guide page.

I am not aware of a way to keep the same breakpoints each time you open NinjaTrader in Visual Studio. Note that we do not provide education on the use of Visual Studio since it is not created by NinjaTrader.
