    Clear NJ8 DataBase without losing studies and templates

    Hi - How can I clear the history of the accounts I've had in the past in NinjaTrader 8, but still maintain the studies I've imported, the trades I've taken, and the chart templates I have saved? Thanks!

    Hello rezamerik,

    Unfortunately, it would not be possible to remove this without removing the database that saves all of the other information you have mentioned.

    However, if you are using the latest release 8.1.1.7, you shouldn't be seeing any information for any accounts that are not currently connected.

    May I confirm that you are on the latest release?
    In which window are you seeing order history of previous accounts?

      Thanks for your reply. I'm using the 8.0.27.1 64-bit version actually. Seems like I should update Can I update without losing my templates / imported studies, and at the same time get rid of old accounts?

        Hello rezamerik,

        Yes, you can update to the latest release and this will not remove any scripts or templates.


        This will not remove old accounts, but will not show information from any accounts that are not connected.

          Thanks for the info. The new version keeps asking me to log in each time I run the application. How can I fix this? It's really annoying! Also, how can I completely clear the NinjaTrader database to get rid of the old accounts? I can still see those under an add-on that I'm using. Thanks!

            Hello rezamerik,

            The login is required and is intentional. The latest release of NinjaTrader implements industry standard security and logs into your Client Portal account.

            Thank you for specifying the window you are seeing the accounts in is a custom Addon window.

            The code of the addon should be changed to only list connected accounts (similar to the rest of the platform).

            Unfortunately, it would not be possible to remove the old accounts without removing the database which will contain the Trade information for all other accounts.

              Are the old accounts from a prop firm? If so, I think you have to ask the prop firm to remove them from your login so they don't keep displaying the inactive blown accounts when you log in.
