    Symbol"s exchange changed - no chart data

    Hi,

    NT 8.1.1.7 new install with 10.23.2.a TWS version, freshly installed both. No add-ons, just the pure starting system. IB connection created, it is working. New chart TSLA, 1-minute, 30 days displays nothing, no data loading. Checked TWS API log, got the message:

    13:51:54:652 -> 4-2-105-162-Historical Market Data Service error message:No market data permissions for ISLAND STK. Requested market data requires additional subscription for API. See link in 'Market Data Connections' dialog for more details.-
    13:51:54:986 <- 1-11-401-0-TSLA-STK--0---SMART-ISLAND-USD---0-375-0--

    It seems NT8 sent the request with smart - Island routing. I have no data subscription for Island ECN therefore the request was rejected and that is the reason no chart data received.

    In the tools-instruments-tsla-edits dialog I found two exchanges ticked: default and Nasdaq. I deselected default, wanted the routing to Nasdaq exchange only. New - charts- tsla resulted an empty chart with no name on the chart's tab. Checked the tws api log: no request was sent from NT8.

    Please advise how to proceed forward to have chart data in this case.

    Futures charts seems to be working, Nasdaq stocks charts are not.

    Thank you for your post.

    Resetting your instruments should resolve this item. To reset your instruments, please take these steps:
    1. Disconnect from any data providers by navigating to the Control Center > Connections menu, and left-click on “disconnect” that appears to the right when hovering your mouse over any active connection
    2. Reset your instruments by navigating to the Control Center > Tools > Database Management
    3. In the Database Management window, under the “Update instruments” section, ensure that “General properties”, "Futures expiries" and “Symbol mappings” options are checked and then click Update
    4. Restart NinjaTrader
    Also please note that Interactive Brokers does have historical data limitations that if hit can take a long time for charts to load.

    We advise starting with only one chart window set to a 1 minute data series and loading 1-2 days worth of data to test.​

      Hi Spencer,

      I have doen what you suggested, the result is the same. I have done some furter search on this problem and the root of the problem is at the IB datafeed subscription side. As far as I informed the API historical data acces requires additional subscription as the error message suggest.

      To all IB users. Be aware of tthe color of the DATA text in the caption (before your name) of the TWS window. If it is Yellow than click on it and see what IB is claiming to process further. In my case IB recognized the API side problem and offered additional subscriptions. I added these and the DATA text became green again. On the other hand there were not a word about any API related information in these subscription.

      At the moment I got the same error message requesting historical data but there were some warning about a delay in the service after the subscription. I am going to wait one day and try aagin. If it is not working than I will contact IB support.

      From my side this case is closed, good luck for every IB users.
